Has anybody removed the rear bumper appliqué? If so, what's the best way?

Heat gun to soften it then carefully peel it back. Use Goo Gone to remove left over glue. Then clean off the Goo Gone using car wash soap.

So both of the dealerships I could get cars at both state they are getting some rear bumper protection film that has the Scion logo on it, and it's being done at the port. Does anyone have any clue what this looks like on the car? I don't really want another Scion logo on my car, I would prefer a clean rear bumper.

For anyone that may be interested and doesn't want the logo, I noticed in the BRZ Accessory catalog that they have a rear bumper applique/protector that has no logo except a small "Pearl colored" subaru logo in on corner which you could probably cut off without any problem.

One of the vendors here (subaruonlineparts.com) list it for around $55.

Just a note to those interested in this sticker or even the "protectors" for the front of the car... These are a total PITA if you use any paste type wax... The edge collects the wax and it sucks to get it out... and if you don't.. and you're car color is in contrast to the wax color.. It sticks out like a big ole scratch. I made this mistake ONCE... I have the hood and the bumper protector... now that all the wax is cleaned up I'll use something else next time.

I take about 20 minutes before polishing/waxing the car to tape all edges that should not have wax on them. Painters tape works wonders.

For those who wish to remove the rear bumper applique, it's actually extremely easy. I just removed mine and didn't even need to use any type of heat gun/hair dryer. If its just slightly warm outside (~80F) the applique will come off very easily. I started by just using a plastic squeegee on the very tip pushing it in until it started to bundle up, enough for me to get a grip on the edge with my nail. After that just keep a firm grip and pull back slowly on the area closest to the bumper. After taking it completely off there was no real glue residue left but I could feel the difference between the section that had the applique and didn't have it. A quick cleaner wax took care of that!

Used Subaru BRZ film on my FR-S

I too didn't want a huge "SCION" logo on the back of my bumper, so I bought the bumper film from Subaru made for BRZ's.

There's a tiny Subaru logo in the top-left corner of the film, kinda hard to see. I see no harm in having this logo since most of the car is stamped with Subaru on it anyways.

Pretty easy to install, except there aren't any marked holes in which the instructions refer to -- you're gonna have to eye it. I used a water/soap solution to put it on, the kit comes with a thick piece of plastic to squeegee out the solution.
