Something like [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Thrust-Needle-Roller-60x85x5-Bearings/dp/B00KDPN0TK/ref=sr_1_4?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1437563977&sr= 1-4&keywords=60mm+needle+bearing"]this[/ame] may solve the problem for good, you shouldn't have to lock down the perches insanely tight.

Do you have any sort of bearing between the spring and perch at either end? Springs torque when they compress, and if there's nothing to let the spring rotate at one end, it could be rotating the spring perch.

This are the Tein SF. It seems there's just a big flat washer at the bottom ring..

by the way, do you know Erick Mahle?

The name sounds familiar, but don't think so.

Shouldnt it still be able to spin at the top?

This is my first time using them, might be the last.

Same here, I might be looking for someone better after this winter.

Yes, it definitely spins at the top.

I've found that torringtons that are exposed like that usually don't hold up to the elements in the long term.

TechnoToyTuning sells this: https://technotoytuning.com/universa...-25-id-springs

or fortune auto sells these: http://www.frsport.com/Radial-Bearin...-_p_64223.html

Or Raceseng sells these:

Looking back, I've only ever run them on track cars that were taken apart regularly. I could certainly see long term usage on the street causing issues. Thanks for adding those options.

that sounds dangerous as fuq. if it is lowering itself then that means the coilover is spinning clockwise while driving?

How much preload do you have on the springs? Really don't see how the collars can move in relation to the threaded body once the collars are locked into position. If it's so tight that you have trouble loosening how do you suppose it's lowering on it's own?

Springs do tend to sag over time. Also, right after installation it will sit a few mm higher than it would after the springs "settle". Maybe that's the problem? The ride height is not truly 'set' until you've loaded and unloaded several cycles after installation.

I didn't touch the preload. They are recommended from Tein to leave as they come unless you know what you're doing.

The suspension is not lowering a few mm, it's lowering from about 1 inch of threads all the way to the bottom.

Sucks that I won't know if it worked until I check again in a few months.

Pictures will definitely help. Before and after they lower themselves. Also If it is un-threading itself then basically you have no preload and when the shock is fully extended (car jacked up and wheels in full droop) you'd have a gap between the top of the coil and the perch thing above it. I still don't see how it's going to be unthreading itself on the shock body...

If it's the collar that locks the lower 'cup' in position, then somehow that collar is not doing it's job and allowing the shock body to rotate threading into the 'cup'. Might want to call Tein and complain to them. Maybe they already know of this problem and have a solution.
