Tein Springs!!

So I'm currently in the process of installing my tein springs and what a nightmare it has been so far...

First off I found out that I have a broken sway bar end link. Thankfully @megamarines was there for the rescue pair of end links!

Also last night when I was trying to install the rears, I broke off one of the wheel studs:mad0260:..... great.....

Anyways at this moment I only have the fronts on but will be getting the rears on tomorrow for some before and after pictures!

BeatSonic Roof Spoiler 11/19/15

I'd like to give a special thanks to the guys over at @Beat-Sonic . They got my unpainted BeatSonic Roof Spoiler to me with abosolutely no damage and was packaged very very well and came timely.

I ended up wrapping my unpainted spoiler with the extra Vinyl Wrap I had from when I wrapped my roof.

There was very nice, and very detailed instuctions from BeatSonic with included 3m double sided tape, and alcohol wipes to clean all the surfaces.

Below are some pictures of when I installed it. Please excuse my dirty car.

Hey, what did you ever decide to do about the mishap with the underside of your car?

I had him do what he could to try to get it out. It shows a little bit when you look at the car from the side at a further distance. But I think I'm going to just install a TRD Sideskirt to hide it.

@MisterSheep cool beans. I know you were pondering how to approach the matter. I too have a little boo boo on the rocker that will be addressed with a side skirt. :w00t:

Speaking of the TRD skirts, are you going with the full TRD or are you going to mix and match? I'd like to see what you're gonna do!

That good sir... Is going to be a secret.. I have a possible buy I might pick up on a exterior part that was discontinued in 2013 for this car, and, is only for sale through that one site... might be a pretty rare item down the road.

11/27/15 First CEL

As of 11/27/15 Miyuki had her first check engine light at 31,480 miles. Haven't driven her since. The check engine light ended up being a P0018 code, which is a camshaft positioning sensor. I will be taking the car in tomorrow morning 12/1/15 on my way to work. Will update with what the dealership says!

Updates on CEL

Brought the car in early on Tuesday morning to the dealership on 12/1/15. Dont wan't to label the dealership as of yet just in case. When I was there they all seemed pretty nice got me in there pretty quick and had the paperwork handled promtly. The guy taking care of my paperwork proceeded to ask multiple questions about my car and then asked if I had ever watched Initial D. I told him that I have heard of it but sadly have not watched it yet. He then proceeded to go on about how my car was based off of that show.

Anyways let's fast forward until about 10:30am.
The representative proceeded to tell me about how they couldn't exactly figure out what was wrong, but what he thought in his own terms was "the computer had a glitch in the system. We continued to find a lot of random codes that the computer was throwing up but could not find out why." He then asked, "Do we have your permission to keep the car overnight and put some miles on it so we can figure out what exactly is going on? We have our head foreman working on the car and he is considered the best of the best for toyota." after asking multiple questions about why they needed it and why can't I just take it home and then bring it back if it has problems again. But after some time I agreed to let them take care of it for the sake of figuring out what is wrong.

Clipdat 12-02-2015 06:40 PM

Wow I would've never agreed to that. Sounds more like they want to take it out for a midnight drift run on highway 9.

BRO WTFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!
I command you and everyone that owns a FRS to watch Initial D if you have not seen it yet. Missing out on some serious JDM-ness :(

MisterSheep 12-02-2015 11:13 PM

So here comes the next day after I agreed to let them use my car and put some miles on it. I called the dealership at roughly 2:30pm to figure out what's going on because I would be leaving work in 1 hour. I get a call back and the representative told me that the lead foreman did in fact have the same problem come up when he tested the car. He since then has been working on it all day and has been on and off the phone with Toyota all day figuring out what to do. He said "they replaced some parts and tried different things to figure out what is going on" one thing that bugged me was he did not specify what these "parts" were. He was very generic with the termology and did not warn me before hand in case I need to be paying for them. He then proceeded to tell me that he will call me later with any updates.

I got a call from him roughly 2 hours ago. He said they got the O.K. from Toyota to replace "Intake Gear Bank 2" and if that doesn't fix they issue they are going to replace the whole ECU.
