Hmm...none of my previous cars, or any of my family's cars, ever had their a/c drain hose clogged up, but that's just anecdotal evidence.

Reading other threads on this issue, some dealers seem to charge, while others seem to fix it as part of the warranty. Now I'm debating whether to cancel my service appt. for this issue and just try to unclog the drain myself.

I'd strongly advise against this. I read in a legitimate article from a legitimate source of legitimate expertise that big spiders prefer the FRS/BRZ over other cars. It's science.

Of course they would like it more if it had more horse power and some are switching over to the new WRXs but...

Absolutely.

I'm a User Experience developer. I build websites for a living.

That'd be like me not considering the needs of color blind people when designing/developing a website. About 4.5% of the world population has some kind of color vision deficiency.

Of course. Mazda had a whole recall because spiders were clogging up the fuel system. I think GM had a similar recall too. If this was rare, I can see dealerships charging. But given how 'young' this car still is, it's obviously a design flaw if there are multiple threads about this issue.

wtf...I just looked this up.

Thats insane lol

That is funny because spiders build web sites for a living as well!

We need moose proof cars here but nobody seems to care about THAT!

You should always design for spiders. Otherwise the only solution is fire.
