I ran Sportlines for 5-6 months and even though my struts never blew out, the ride quality really sucked. Like someone has already said, the factory struts aren't meant for lowering springs. You'll be putting your struts under stress and will in turn sacrifice ride quality.
If you are set on getting springs, I'd go with a Pro-Kit. They will lower the car 1" and from what I hear the ride quality isn't affected much.
If you're looking to lower further than 1" but want to keep a good ride quality then look for coilovers. I have SPD's Pro-Street coilovers which are great if the car is just your daily driver and not going to be used on the track. They can lower the car plenty while maintaining factory-like ride quality.
Just do research on this site. There are plenty of reviews on both springs and coilovers. It's a big investment, so make sure you do it right the first time so you don't end up wasting money!
