That's it so far but I mean, if something goes wrong and you want new parts you want it to be Porsche not some no name brand replacement.
He's getting the new 2014 gt3 soon and one of the options is Porsche disc brakes ($40,000)
Easiest way to look at it in comparison:
•Toyota/scion/brz; top of the line TRD/STI big brakes; $10,000
•Porsche high spec big brakes; $40,000

$400-800 a tire? Good lord - what kind of tires is he running? A full set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports for my Cayman runs $970 ($273 ea. for the rears, and 211 ea. for the fronts). Also, low profile isn't what determines how fast a tire wears - that's more dependent on tire compound and how it is driven.
As for $40k for brakes? The PCCB brake option on a GT3 is just under $10k. The brakes on my Cayman would be around $700-$800 for the fronts only (at the dealer) - I don't know what the rears would cost, but I would assume less than that (and that's for pads and rotors, but they aren't PCCB). I think you're exaggerating a bit when it comes to costs here.
