I specifically bought the FR-S over Cayman S so I could beat the fucking piss out of it and not feel bad!

Wouldn't you be pissed of your Cayman S bumper wound up like this from AutoX?

Well I don't give a FUCK because it's a $25k Scion. If you can't enjoy DRIVING it what's the point of owning a sports car?

I'd like something a little more comfortable, a GTI would be a good pick. But there's still the charm of having RWD, if they can make a turbocharged subaru/lexus hybrid that would be nuts. Also make it a turbodiesel and a hybrid.

I will patiently wait for the BMW/TOYOTA collaboration.

I agree. This is a savage car built in the land of the rising sun, it was made for throwing into gutters and giving credit due to the takumi tax.

Cayman owners take better precaution of their bumpers, I'd say. I've seen lots of plasti-dipped and car bra's on porsche bumpers on road trips

•He took it to a track day the other month and due to its really low profile tires (that got torn up) they had to be replaced the next day... $400-800 each a tire (dependent on quality)

That's it so far but I mean, if something goes wrong and you want new parts you want it to be Porsche not some no name brand replacement.
He's getting the new 2014 gt3 soon and one of the options is Porsche disc brakes ($40,000)

Easiest way to look at it in comparison:
•Toyota/scion/brz; top of the line TRD/STI big brakes; $10,000
•Porsche high spec big brakes; $40,000

$400-800 a tire? Good lord - what kind of tires is he running? A full set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports for my Cayman runs $970 ($273 ea. for the rears, and 211 ea. for the fronts). Also, low profile isn't what determines how fast a tire wears - that's more dependent on tire compound and how it is driven.

As for $40k for brakes? The PCCB brake option on a GT3 is just under $10k. The brakes on my Cayman would be around $700-$800 for the fronts only (at the dealer) - I don't know what the rears would cost, but I would assume less than that (and that's for pads and rotors, but they aren't PCCB). I think you're exaggerating a bit when it comes to costs here.

I once replaced the water pump on a 944. It took three days.

My next car would most possibly be the new Supra or a R35 GTR, if i still want a sports car.

Or i maybe become more practical as my daughter grows up and get a BMW x6 or Audi Q7.

You know the phrase "if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it"? That goes for maintenance/parts on a Porsche.

I've always found that statement to be whole heartedly asinine and completely stupid. A rich person with common sense will ask, anyone who doesn't ask is stupid.

1965 Stingray Corvette, one day.

Do you swap out cars every two years? What the Hoo?

My next car hasn't hit the design department yet.
Last three cars: 1 - 7 years. 2 - 11 years. 3 - 18 years.

Hmm. Maybe the next one is a mobility scooter...

This made me chuckle. I would just about bet even money you don't know who the asinine and completely stupid person was that originated that statement. When you have time Google J.P. Morgan.

Agree,
Zero fucks.
Bought it to drive it.

I would probably drive a Porsche the same way though so who knows.
