One of the times, the window did not wanted to go down, it was weird. I disconnected/reconnected battery and it works. Try disconnect, wait a few minutes and reconnect. |
I had a buddy of mine who drives a BMW which does the same thing as our car. He shattered his glass one day because he turned off his battery, opened his door to grab something and slammed the door. Probably not going to happen to this car, but just a food for thought for some of you who think that it's not a big deal.
Glad you got her fixed OP. |
dealer said it was to relieve pressure since its a small cabin you wont have to slam the door to close, so i would hope its an option to turn off or on somehow?
in fact theres no need to debate it, its on scions website as a feature: "simple shut windows" "Improves ease of closing door by allowing air to be released from the vehicle interior" http://www.scion.com/cars/FR-S/features/# so silly if you cant choose to disable it though... |
Hey Everyone,
Quick Test to do in this situation, turn your interior light to Door, Open the affected door and if it does not drop slightly check if your interior light is on.. You may have poor earthing contact in the door switch and resulting in the window not being told to lower slightly.. If you wiggle the switch slightly up and down it may receive contact and work. Just tighten the bolt and the fault should disappear. Good Luck! |

If you want to see how they will work if disabled, just pull the negative battery cable. Open the door (if you can) and don't be surprised when the glass hangs up on the external plastic trim surround. And consider yourself lucky if you don't damage something in the process. |

50+ years of cars without the "feature" working fine and now this ONLY shows up on cars with frameless windows? It has nothing to do with reducing the pressure, it has everything to do with the glass fitting into the window seal. |
