I've had the Works filter installed for 10k miles now.

I just dyno'd my car at Dynosty during 86 Nationals. On their dyno I peaked at 148whp where stock cars were reading around 142whp. I'm happy with the gain :)

Sorry no dyno charts available.

How much less power did it have in the torque dip compared with those stock cars? There was more power lost there than was gained at the top end.
Have a look at the chart above.

What about the HKS filter? How much hp does that produce?

Fast_Freddy 08-15-2013 11:38 PM

FWIW, Works also claims a 5 hp gain from their aluminized mild steel mid-pipe replacement. Yes, the same mid-pipe that both Nameless and Supersprint say isn't worth replacing.

I must have missed them saying this. What source did you get this from?

Not enough to justify the ridiculous price and subsequent engine wear from lack of adequate filtration and premature filter degradation. HKS filters suck and should be avoided.

Should have been more clear-where does nameless and supersprint say midpipes aren't worth replacing

Unfortunately we didn't look at the data that closely or compare to other cars. Literally spend about 10 minutes on the dyno to do 4 pulls to get it to stabilize and that was it.

It was free so YMMV :iono:

That's my dyno chart posted. Works filter is lying buried in my garage somewhere.

We tested different setups. The midpipe doesn't give any power gain, as well as the rear muffler.
The only way to gain real power on this car is to work on the front pipe and the headers.

I'm not searching for Nameless saying the same thing because it's commonly known here. That's why Nameless only offers axle-backs.
