My turbo brz

Hey guys, I've been a member for awhile. Mostly just reading and posting once in awhile but I figured it was time to post some info about myself and my car!

21 years old currently an Enlisted Technician working on the VLS launchers for the Navy.

I've always loved cars, like im sure most everyone on here. My fist car was a 91 s13 hatch that seized up shortly after I bought it. Swapped in an sr20 and loved that car more than my right hand. I also loved STI's especially the 06-07's. But I couldn't ever ditch my love of drifting for AWD. So when I heard about the brz I knew I would have one. Once I found out there wasn't a turbo and finally test drove one I knew I'd want more power and I'd end up sinking a ton of $$ into it. So to avoid financial ruin and building a brand new car, I started surfing the web for a brz that had most everything I wanted to do to the car.

First car

So while deployed I found "the one" on this forum, and set everything up to have the car delivered the day we got back to the states.
2 hours after pulling into the pier, My car arrived.

It wasn't exactly a fairy tale there were some cosmetic issues, the tune was way off and the car barely ran.

But with the help of an awesome local tuner Ross Benton and his shop Trust Automotive in, Chesapeak,VA. We were able to rebuild the fa20club kit into a nice setup, and fix all the tuning issues. Eventually putting down 406whp/323wtq on 17psi with E-80.

Shortly after that, we had some flooding and the car sucked up some water, which ended up bending a rod.

That's when we decided to rebuild the motor with forged internals. Pauter rods, acl bearings, JE low comp pistons, and the heads were sent to Element Tuning of MD for their "Big Valve Head" package.

We're currently waiting for the parts to arrive to get my baby back on the road, hopefully before Thanksgiving.

UPDATE** The car made 520whp/402wtq on 27psi here in Portland at Performance Race Engineering

Well its been way to long since I've updated this!
The car has seen some changes and finally has a finished tune.

The wheels were re-coated and are now lazer copper.
The 60 trim was taken out and we put in a pte5858.
Added a spencer fab front crash bar
Had a custom oil cooler put together by PSI here in Portland, OR
Then PRE here in Portland, OR did a return fuel system and a final tune.
The car made 520whp/402wtq at 27psi on E-80

Very nice.

When you get to installing the FB radiator, I'd suggest getting the shroud and Spal fans as well-great package.

Also, you can move the radiator forward quite a bit by drilling new lower mounting holes forward of the stock positions, and with custom upper mounting tabs.

This gives you extra clearance and helps things run cooler.

Same, she's been under the knife for 2 months so anxious is an understatement lol.
When the car was running 406whp, it was a blast. Honestly, way more power than this car needs lol. But im hoping for low 500whp.
