After all that, I still dont know
If I should get the Raven or Asphalt. I like black cars but I heard that Raven or black car in general requires high maintenance cosmetic wise, it will show more scratches, rock chips, water spots ...etc. :/ and Yes i have been through all the pictures of both color cars on the gallery pages.

Black cars are fine if you take car of them. My raven has no swirls almost no scratches and no chips. They key is knowing hot wo maintain them. Ie wash, wax, polish, clay bar ect. Use the 2 bucket system when washing and dry your car off. I use sham wows, an use a different one to dry each part for the least possible chances of debris being rubbed across my car.
Each fender, each bumper, hood, roof, trunk, each door all get their own shammy. But I'm also the kind of guy that washes and dries door sills, engine bay, shines up my exhaust pipes and under carriage once a month as well. For me my 2 fav colors are raven and SWP. At the end if the day, it's a new car and ur going to want to take care of it regardless.

Black is so common and cliche. If you've seen a dark gray Subaru you've seen the asphalt, it's just as hard to take care of as the black so it's up to preference.
Personally, pick up whichever comes your way first, that's how I did it. Leave it up to chance and I doubt you'll be disappointed. The dark gray is gorgeous. |

The Asphalt isn't as hard to take care of. That's about it. Scratches don't show as easily and "stays clean" a little longer.

I prefer the Asphalt. It's a little more unique than the Raven. It has a BRILLIANT flake that shines like no other under sun light and takes the hue of whatever you're parked near. It seems to stay more clean than my buddies Black WRX. The only complaint I have with mine is that it's kind of hard to find a set of wheels that looks proper on it. Where as with Raven you can get any set of black wheels and have it look slick as f*ck.

The black has plenty of flake. Actually makes it look cleaner then it is. Coming from some1 that is use to always cleaning my grandpas 911. His car I pure black, no flake an it shows every spec of dirt.

Flip a coin.
Personally I like the dark gray a lot. It was my 2nd color choice after white

Personally, love them both. I enjoy washing and waxing so I don't mind the dark colours.
You won't regret either. Perhaps go to a meet to see them side by side if your dealer doesn't have them both. .

It's a small car, it shouldn't take too long to wash/wax. If you have the spare time, get the Raven.
If you just started your residency as a doctor, you won't have time but you should be able to afford regular detail jobs. |

- do you have more spare time to wash your car yourself?
- Will you be able to pay someone else to wash the car? - Are you planning to drive more? how is the climate and road condition? - do you have closed parking at your home/office? I believe you can decide basis above questions. I live in hot climate and dusty area, I can only wash the car probably once every two weeks, plus I don't have covered parking at my office. So dark color is no-no to me. But in the end if you really like dark colors, then buy it. |

Asphalt has a purple color to it, which is love/hate. How obvious it is depends on lighting.
My advice is to go look at both in person. It's different from looking at a bunch of pictures online, and you will probably find yourself gravitating towards one or the other when you're facing both of them. |

Asphalt definitely doesnt look as good in pictures as it does in person, however, a clean Raven looks better. Imo, if you have time to keep your car clean, Raven.
