Installing a backup camera on a 2015 FRS?
Hey everyone! New to the forum and new owner of a RS1.0 here. I'm curious if anyone with a 2015 FRS has installed a back up camera and how hard it was to get it working if so?
Also if you don't mind linking where to buy it from that'd be great, thanks!

Ironically I searched for a 2016 Red FRS for months but could never find one that was close or had everything I wanted (Spoiler, Auto, 15k or lower miles)

Again, do a search for backup camera in the Electronics | Audio | NAV | Infotainment section. Lots of info.
Here's my install: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...5&postcount=20 If you find a camera that works with 6.0V then, if he still sells it, you can use SVXdc's wire harness. http://ae64.com/Rear-camera-install-16p-FR-S.htm http://ae64.com/Rear-camera-16p-operation.htm http://ae64.com/Rear-camera-16-pin.htm Besides the wire harness the FR-S needs a reverse trigger wire. The BRZ does not. I bought what I thought was a genuine Rydeen Duo from an ebay vendor, but it was a counterfeit. A genuine Rydeen will have a serial/model # sticker on it. Mine did not. So I had to go with the AutHardnessHouse's wire harness and trigger wire. http://www.autoharnesshouse.com/19867.html It's much easier to run the camera wire along the top of the trunk driver's side panel, diagonally under the rear left seat (remove the 10mm seat bolt and lift the seat up just enough to run the wire under it), and then tucked under the center console to the HU. No need to remove any panels except the lower panel on the driver's side to attach the trigger wire. I zip tied the excess wire to the amp wire and attached the camera ground wire to the one of the amp bolts. Last edited by RickyBobby; 05-03-2018 at 12:15 PM. |
