Hi everyone, I recently purchased a 2015 Ultramarine I have 100 miles on it. It is automatic.

It's not worth trading over the auto vs manual IMO. Especially since yours is brand spanking new. You will literally be throwing money away. I've seen guys put trades here for auto vs manual. You could try that if you were really desperate.

Did you ever test drive a manual? You probably should have done that if you didn't. If you had a chance to drive a manual, you might not have buyers remorse or better yet, be driving a manual. It adds to the driver experience and makes it that much more involving.

It's obviously a poor financial decision. However, only you can determine if it's worth the money difference to be driving a car you may enjoy more. First step is to find out what it's gonna cost you. Next step is to amortize that amount over the length of time you intend to own the car.

I've made that kind of mistake before. 6 months later it only got worse and I traded that car in. I think that was back in 2000. Yeah, it cost me some money but that money doesn't mean squat now.

Go drive a manual. See if it really improves your driving experience enough for you to care. You can always spend the money you would lose on the trade in to get a lower FD rear differential which would improve the acceleration of your twin at the cost of some gas mileage.

If you do much stop and go driving then you may find the auto is better suited to your needs anyway. There is something to be said for the ease of use of an auto on those dreary traffic choked commutes to work. The car will still handle just as good as a manual. It will just be a little less quick with the higher gearing of the final drive.

After writing my post up top I went outside drove the car on the freeway for a little bit, switch sports mode on and transmission so manual mode I feel a lot better now. Keeping the car now, with a little extra boost from intake and a turbo in the future I should be ok. Besides i'll only use the car for work and freeway trolling (until I get the turbo). Thanks for the reply.

Just use the paddle shifters when you are in the mood for spirited driving and see what you think. Most high end sports cars no longer come with manuals but advanced automatic transmissions anyway, so keep that in mind. You're in good company! Plus, on reading this forum for 3 years now, if someone posts about a problem with their transmission, it seems to be about an issue with the manual.

I'm with the others. Go test drive a manual and see if its worth it. For me, an owner of a MT, this is the most fun car I've ever owned.

EDIT: as an auto owner, I was happy with my transmission choice, until I started having issues where my car wouldn't downshift properly, which results in the rear wheels locking up on the 2-1 downshift and made it so the car wouldn't rev match. Looking to get rid of the auto ASAP and get into a manual Ecoboost Mustang. I won't be paying for that trade though, Scion Canada will be.

I bought an automatic (Oh the Shame) RS 1.0. My last car was a MT C6 Corvette. This car is FUN FUN FUN to drive as an auto. I mostly use the paddles but lots of times I just let the trans decide. I'm retired and this is just a toy for me but I never threw my C6 around like I do this car and I do this with the AUTO. I've had the car since January and one of my sons said I would regret the purchase but he was wrong. Now go drive your auto and have some fun.

Thanks mini&avette and to all the reply. I just have so much plan on the car, im getting xpel clear full hood, bumper, fenders and side mirrors then opti coat. Maybe it's me i've only driven the car like 8 times so far. When its in sports mode manual mode I like it. Again thanks everyone now I can go to sleep at ease.

That aside, why don't people research things that they are spending tens of thousands of dollars on? I was reading about this car for months (6 or 7) before I purchased it, and went out and test drove its competition at the time. Is this abnormal or something? Is it the new norm to go out and make a purchase without doing any research/looking into all of your options?

Why did you choose an automatic in the first place? Perhaps you can't drive manual, or wanted the ease that comes with having an auto trans, or maybe that was the last one on the lot??? Whatever the reason was I'm sure it is more important than whatever some random ass internet reviews say, or bro's at the car club/highschool are telling you. If you enjoy the car then what else is there to consider? If you don't then yes you made a very poor financial decision and will have to decide on whether or not the financial hit is worth remedying it.

If you go to a dealer to trade in a car with 100 miles.... be sure to bring your own Vaseline. You're gonna need it.

Even with full blown turbo this car won't keep up?
