Anyone else tired?

Anyone else tired of the lack of info coming from Toyota. I was really excited for this car for quite some time. Now I just feel like I hardly have any interest at all anymore.

Yea, but we just have to sit tight and wait. It's better to wait instead of have toyota release a version with problems.

Lexus to skew "progressive luxury" with edgier, sportier designs and... more hybrids?

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/12/21/l...rtier-designs/

According to Automotive News, the idea is called "progressive luxury", and it's already taken hold with the new CT 200h. That's the direction Lexus is heading, with more sport models and more hybrids. The future that Schlicht and company have in store for the marque involves more "expressive, daring designs" than the largely derivative and bland styling statements on many current and past models, more hybrids, more advanced telematics (navigation and communications) systems, more performance-oriented F and F Sports packages, as well as reaching into new segments.

Not really. With the release date still a good bit out there won't be a flood of info. I've been lurking here on and off for awhile patiently waiting for more information.

Doesn't matter to me, late next year will be a good time to buy another car anyways

While I agree, I would still like to know more about the car. Maybe some of their more realistic target goals for the car for production.

here are some news...

TOYOTA is going to pay 32,4 mil. $ penalty to the US gov.

http://www.zeit.de/wirtschaft/untern...-pannen-strafe

Toyota accepts millions more punishment

Because margins of two series of car company, Toyota will pay a multimillion-dollar penalty to the U.S. authorities. However, this was not an admission of guilt.

Once it came to problems with the steering, then again by sliding floor mats: In large-scale series spans the world's largest car maker Toyota has launched in recent faulty cars on the market. The resulting conflict with the U.S. authorities has been peaceful for the time being, the company now: The Japanese group said in Tokyo that he would accept a fine of a total of 32.4 million dollars (24.6 million euros). This step, however, means no admission of guilt for having violated the safety requirements in the U.S..

The authorities had accused Toyota of having concealed the defects in its cars. The Group had since last fall calling for a series of technical breakdowns, more than ten million vehicles back in the garages, much of it in the U.S.. Because of the problems with the steering, the group had to recall 2005, almost one million vehicles in the U.S., in the case of the sliding floor mats, which threatened to block the gas pedal, even about five million. Toyota had already accepted in April a penalty in the amount of 16.4 million dollar fine after the U.S. government had made allegations that the company had covered up problems at accelerators for months.

The evaluation of the recent fines, the company and the Ministry of Transport differed significantly. Transport Minister Ray LaHood, said that Toyota had taken responsibility "for the breach of duty, technical defects to be reported immediately. Toyota denied the other hand, again a deliberate contamination. With the agreement of the Group have avoided a prolonged legal battle, it allows him now, "look ahead". According to Transport Minister LaHood Toyota paid in all cases, the statutory maximum penalty.

Have a nice day and good night!

yeah, I already 99% gave up on the FT86. I'm currently searching from an Elise or NSX. I didn't mind waiting for the FT86 but lack of information has pushed me away.

lol. What did you guys do when you had to rely on magazines for month old information?

Man the internet has really changed the game. lmao.

Get a grip guys. TAS is around the corner, and as November 2011 looms close you will see "spy pics" of test mules in the cars production body shape at the ring soon.

Well, it's not like the FT-86 is going to revolutionize anything. It's just a poor man's sports car. What information do you really need? We already know everything that's important.

^ At the moment all we have is contemplation - about the look of the car (whether or not the concept is close to production), about the interior, about the engine/drivetrain configurations, about the possibility of a turbo model.

We want something solid - we want Toyota to come out and say, this car will look like this: "-", or we want them to come out and say; This car WILL have a 2.0L Boxer engine making upwards of 220hp (or some other figure, depends what you want out of this car). We want something where we can start getting some answers about what the production version of this car will be, because we frankly don't have all that much information on it yet.

+1, why is that so hard for Toyota to do that?
