It's funny it sounds really loud in the video,,,didn't seem so last night when I shot it. Notice you can hear the ding, ding warning for no seat belts when I'm starting it. The camera is a Nikon,,, so it's pretty sensative. Driving into work this morning jusy a slight increase in sound. I'd still like to hear two other configurations,,, one where the passenger side output pipe is used as well,, that is put a branch off the U tube I installed to the passenger output pipe. Then if that's too quite,, cover some of the perforations on the input pipe and see what that sounds like. I'll try to get a drive by this weekend.

Deep, but "farty" sound tho. Maybe it's the mic on the camera. Then again I think it might be the norm on chambered mufflers, the farty, rattly sounds.

Well I'll be honest,,,, I like what I have,,, but I still wonder. The video makes it sound quite loud,,,, It really isn't. That being said,,, I found a guy locally that gave me his muffler today. Very nice of him,, so I'm going to do one more round. I'll route the input pipe to both outputs and cover the perforated input pipe. It may be a bit loud,,, but we'll see. I don't think they'll be anything after this.

Maybe this time round you can stuff some muffler packing in there if you want to tone it down more.

I saw the other thread about the OEM muffler mod,,, so I wanted to add a pic here. I got another muffler and cut it like like the previous one but this time attached the input pipe to both output pipes. It ended up being a 'U' pipe like the previous one plus a kind of a flanged offshoot made of 4 peices of steel. I also covered the perforated pipes on the input pipe. What it ends up being is one input to two 6" (give or take) resonated output pipes. I will say adding the output to that second pipe (passenger side) was a pain as the three pipes are on different planes and it's all really close together.

Doing this also required to open up the other side so I could finish up the offshoot and cut another opening so I could cover the perforated pipe.

Haven't installed it as I still like what I have with just the 'U' pipe. Going to haver to do that though.

As a sidebar,,, recently bought a 2016 Corvette with the Z51 package. There's a dial on the console to change the settings of the exhaust ( and other this as well) as you go from touring to sport or track. It's pretty slick.

Why keep both cars? The Z51 is better in every way but fuel economy and carrying passengers.

I drive 110 miles roundtrip to work. The FRS is really my DD I'll drive the Vette maybe one day a week and the weekends. In the year and a half I've owned the FRS I've put just over 40K on it. I have 4 years left to retire. At that point the FRS will be pretty tired,,, and the Vete just comming into it's own.

At least that's the plan.

By the way 460 HP is good,,,, very very good!

When your FR-S is your practical car...

And I bet 460HP is. I test drove a Model X P90D. 532HP. It's nice. Can't wait to drive a Model X P100DL.
