[Suggestion] Race subforums

Any way we could get some subforums separated for different types of racing?

Drifting
Drag Racing
HDPE
etc.

I would like to 3rd this. We have a very large number of people involved in the racing scene with this vehicle.

Errrr? Am I missing something? Isn't there one called "Tracking / Autocross / HPDE / Drifting"?

Yeah but it's all under one section; meaning there's hundreds of threads under section on various different topics.

We're saying have it set up the same way the sale section is done.

So you would have a subforum for auto-x, one for drag racing, one for HDPE, one for drifting etc. with all of the corresponding threads under each one. It would just make everything much easier to navigate and find a specific thread or topic.

It also allows somebody to be able to locate all of the information they want/need in one place. For example, say I come to the forum and am a new member. I'm interested in setting my car up for auto-x and attending local events. Instead of having to scroll through pages of countless threads trying to piece together info, I could go to the "auto-x" subforum and have all the needed information packed together in one spot.

It's important for forums to have as few sections as possible because otherwise the front end gets crowded and messy. Would there be enough people to populate these new sections without them looking like ghost towns?

The drifting information, for example, is mostly all contained within one multi-page thread. With information having to be recycled within that thread.

Easily. On the first page alone, there are various different topics of discussion. There's a few threads talking about the schedules for different types of racing programs and such. There's a few threads on contingency programs offered by different people. There's also various topics concerning wheels, tires, and brakes.

SCCA/HPDE/Circuit
AutoX
Drag Racing
Rally Racing
Drifting

Maybe apart from rally racing, I'm sure each of those sections could easily generate enough traffic without making the forum look too cluttered; only 4 or 5 subforums would be added.

It also makes stuff pretty ridiculous to find. The drifting thread for example is almost 40 pages in length, and there's been various questions asked time and time and time again. Having things more organized just helps people find the information easier.

Perhaps a category for Mexico Races would be good as well.

I see the Laplanders have been left out, as usual.
They both raise and race reindeer, by the way.
