I think this car is giving me tinnitus.
Seriously, this is the loudest car I've ever ridden in, to the point where I'm almost convinced it's giving me hearing damage.
Before anyone ask, my mods: -Greddy SP Elite axleback (very quiet) -Eibach Sportlines -Work Kiwami CR 18x8.5/18x9.5 -Michelin Pilot Super Sports 225/40/18 & 245/35/18 Somehow this combo (along with the lack of sound deadening) produces 85+db on the highway at my typical cruising speed of 120km/h (~75mph). Every since I got the car I've noticed more ringing in my ears than normal, like I just got back from a concert when I was in fact just coming back from a buddy's place. I didn't want to blame it on the car, but then I started measuring the SPL of other things I do. Just driving this car on the highway rates as one of the loudest things I do. The only 2 louder things were a metal concert (92+db) and my stereo at home cranked to "drunk" listening levels (88+db). Since I measured this I've started wearing ear plugs on trips longer than 30 mins, but that's super impractical and annoying. Is anyone else's car that loud? Is it the wheel/tire combo? I feel like it's worse with my summer tires on, but I won't be able to validate that until next winter.

Nameless 2.5" 5" muffler 4" tips on mine. Inside the car with windows up is very quiet. Granted, during rain or you find that one pot hole that's new, I can see the cabin being noisy.

I have the nameless axleback, the quiet version... Lol.. All else is stock.
I don't find it to be that loud.. Certain road surfaces seem to enhance the noise considerably.. But not enough for earplugs. I'm an audiophile and have developed some ringing as well over the years.. But I don't consider the car too loud at all.. I just paid a fortune for a dishwasher that is only 64 db.. I would think the car is in the upper 70 db area.. I think C&D has db reading at speeds.. Need to check Quote:

It's definitely not the exhaust or engine noise of any sort.
It's almost certainly tire/road noise as on freshly paved roads the noise is about half as loud as on older roads. Anyone who thinks this car is quiet, even stock, is crazy.

I'd probably try adding sound deadening material to various panels first. Do you have your back seat up? Have you done anything that would transmit more noise to the cabin (upgraded bushings, camber plates, etc...)?
