Book Review - "An Astronaut's Guide to Life On Earth" by Chris Hadfield
"An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth" by Colonel Chris Hadfield (ret.)
This book is compilation of Chris Hadfield's experiences of growing up wanting to be an astronaut (when Canadian astronauts didn't exist because there was no Canadian space program at all!) all the way through Air Force training to his time as a test pilot and through his ASSCan (NASA slang for Astronaut Candidate) days and finally his three trips to space. The book isn't written in chronological order but rather in streams of thought that tie quite nicely into one another. It isn't, for most part, highly technical but rather philosophical and very inspirational. He talks about keys to success, visualizing failure, how to impact a team ("be a zero") and simple things that everyone should appreciate. His coverage pretty much goes to the end when he lands back on earth and covers everything including his famous "Space Oddity" music video he has on YouTube. All in all it is a very calming read (very much his personality) and well written with plenty of funny moments and a surprisingly good chunk of photos of his life in the middle of the book. I highly recommend this book for anyone 14 and up. Those of the younger age might have a hard time grasping some of his vocabulary (during his talks about technical bits) but for most part, it is quite understandable and easy to comprehend. Also, in Toronto at least, the book is on sale for $20 for a hardcover at Indigo and Chapters - that definitely adds to the value to what is a very good book. 9/10 stars for me!

Such an interesting conversation about something unrelated to this platform from people who don't own these cars. Reported

I gotta ask... what keeps you coming back here, being that you've sold your twin shortly after or before joining, and don't seem to have an interest in the platform? Is our misc. section really that interesting?

Arrogance stems from one's belief in their superiority.
Confidence stems from one's belief in their accomplishments. Know the difference.

How has this conspiracy nonsense become so prevalent among people that likely have a decent amount of coin? (supercharged c6)
the mental gymnastics needed for the conspiracies to hold water is wild.
