FR-S Audio pinout help needed

There is a very interesting writeup for the BRZ that makes use of the steering wheel switch pins for the radio. Apparently they are:

21 SWC1 Audio (Seek, Volume)
22 SWC2 Mode & Phone
23 SWC Common

I'm trying to learn/verify what the corresponding pins are on the FR-S, specifically the base Pioneer used in the anniversary edition and as the base unit in the 2014.
The other Scions have steering wheel controls, so something along these lines exists for this unit.

This post was originally used to bump the thread and whine about not getting any help. I'm taking it to put a summary at the beginning of the thread.

At this point we know it works exactly as described for the FR-S base H/U used in the Anniversary edition and all 2014 Scions. It also works for the Fujitsu Ten w/Nav unit in the BRZ.

On the back of the H/U there is a 28 pin connector.
Looking at the connector from the back of the radio, counting left to right.
Bottom row, Pins 20, 21 & 22. These three go to the steering wheel controls.
20 - common
21 - SW2
22 - SW1
The operation performed is controlled by the amount of resistance connected across the common and one of the SW pins.
Here is what I have learned so far thanks to the generous assistance of a few members.

SW1
0 - preset down/ scan up (radio)
Next track (bluetooth, CD)
330 - preset up/scan down
Previous track (bluetooth, CD)
1.3k - vol up
4.7k - vol down

SW2
0 - mode/mute toggle
330- Hang up phone
1.3k - Enter phone menu and step through
4.7k - Pick up phone

These values are if multiple switches are set up in parallel to each pin with one resistor per switch.
The factory does not use that type of circuit. They build a series ladder so each level adds the previous ones to itself to create the totals listed above, so the factory circuit board has 0, 330, 1.0k, and 3.3k.
The factory also puts a 100k resistor across the common/SW1 and common/SW2 connections (2 resistors total) for stability.

This post has links to must have manuals for working on the audio system.

Actually I have been looking for the same info. Getting ready to install the backup camera and nav unit. Would like to know if any other pins on the 2014 hu can be used for other purposes.

...would anything in the previous link help?

(It had quite a few diagrams but I'm not sure if it has what you need)

Genuinely appreciate the attempt, but I already looked there. No answer. It's just a matter of time until someone publishes them.

Just keeping this on the first page until someone who has the information sees it.

I truly appreciate the effort, but I think my best bet is going to be that same thing from a 14 tc. I have the same request posted on a Scion site but no luck there yet either.
The problem is that the wires that I need don't exist in an FR-S. The pins are on the radio, but they aren't connected to anything.

So the 2014 TC has steering wheel controls and the same head unit?

The H/U in the anniversary edition is the same one they used as base in all the 14 Scions. All the other Scions have steering wheel controls.
I'm not interested in steering wheel controls though. I want to do what a couple of the BRZ guys did. One created a pad that sits where the coin tray is between the shift lever and the center console.

Get someone with a 2014 Scion and take a picture with all connections plugged in. See which one we're missing. Find the harness and fuzz the lines. Boom done.
