Difference between sporttech and 10 series?

Other than the glowing emblem and auto stick, isn't this basically just a frs sporttech? ( premium for y'all down south ).

I see people saying how they want one but can't stand the colour and light up badges, sooo.... Shouldn't they just buy a brz? Lol I feel like I'm missing something.

10 series are also missing the heated leather/alcantera seats, foglights, SatNav, and rear spoiler.

That is, if you're comparing them to the BRZ Sport Tech (Limited) model.

I'd buy a BRZ over a 10 series. Like the OP, I'm not a fan of the color. Light up badges are tacky too

The upper models called the limited?? Lmao almost a month of ownership and 2 on the forum and I just realized this. And nice to hear my brz has more features than the 10 I was worried i'd second guess this purchase, ha!

Yup, the "premium" is the base model for the BRZ/Subaru in general.

Also, I'm not sure of this but I think the 10 Series also don't have the door courtesy lights either... Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct. 10 Series also does not have lighted vanity mirrors.

*The spoiler is an add-on. So the 10 Series can have it as well (I have it on mine).

But yeah, people that like the 10 Series, but not the color should get Limited BRZ's. I was originally in the market for a WRB Limited BRZ before stumbling across the 10 Series. If it hadn't been for a $1.5k mistake on the trade-in value that the Toyota dealership made I'd be purchasing a '14 WRB Limited BRZ right about now.

doesn't the 10 series have glowly words and stuff on the glovebox to annoy your passenger or is that only during startup?

Yes it has an electroluminescent dash panel that turns on when doors get opened or when you turn parking lights on that lasts 30 seconds or so. It can be disabled though with a switch under steering wheel. Also means that 10 series comes with a different faux carbon fiber dash panel (not the T shapes) that is a lighter colour but not as light as the BRZ limited silver.

You're right about the heated seats, but foglights and spoiler are a dealer installed option for the FR-S (of course, those parts are not the same as the BRZ version). Also, starting with the 10 Series you can get satnav in the FR-S. ("In addition to full navigation services, this upgraded system connects with compatible smartphones through Aha...")

Since the FR-S 10 Series gets HID's, the differences between the FR-S and BRZ are narrowed down to their basic changes: BRZ gets a light on the door instead of a reflector, insulation on the trunk lid, and there are different springs and interior trim differences...(what am I missing?)

The Scion has silver seat belts, and auto has an LED shift knob. The light up emblems is a Toms signature feature in Japan and is very practical in its intended function, locating your car in a busy parking lot. It only lights when you unlock your doors.

The Subie is a little more upscale inside whereas the Scion is more of a pure sportscar.

I don't understand why you'd describe it like this. Is a Porshe 911 or a Lambo not a sportscar? I understand that you can get very stripped down sports cars as well, but I don't really think the interior (other than having 2 seats) is what makes a car a "sports car."

Things like dual zone automatic climate control and lighted vanity mirrors are Not because racecar. Sorry if that isn't agreeable with you but none of the added features on the Subie are performance enhancements except maybe the.. 01reduction in Cd from the rear spoiler.

10 Series has dual zone climate control. FR-S can get the rear spoiler. BRZ Premium does not have the spoiler.
