Thumbs down Jonathan Vong aka JonMotoring: Poor shipping, slow communications and no effort

I ordered a CS style front lip for my BRZ from JonMotoring on July 19th.

It arrived warped and heavily damaged due to the extremely poor shipping quality. Zero packing material, hardware was loose in the box, which looked like it had been run over with a truck and dragged on the ground, so I emailed Jon about my concerns and sent pics:

Then started a long string of replies where I did my best to work with him and be patient about getting either a replacement or a refund. It was like pulling teeth to get responses from him and they were usually very short tone like he couldn't be bothered.

Finally got a refund today, however Jon has gotten more lips back in stock in the past few weeks, has sold them on this forum actively didn't bother to notify me or offer me a replacement. I just had to find out on my own. It's as if he didn't want my business or to have me as a satisfied customer. Very poor effort on his part.

Just wanted to share my negative experiences with this vendor as I will not be doing business with JonMotoring again. Any suggestions on a vendor who sells CS style front lips for the BRZ with good shipping quality and professional and timely communication would be much appreciated.

I used @night0 and am very happy with my lip kit. You can see pics of it on my car on his for sale thread here http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ghlight=Night0

That's crazy! I ordered my STi inspired front lip ands rear spats from HT Auto last year and they arrived in perfect condition from the UK if I remember correctly. However someone took the time to package it correctly before it shipped. I wish more vendors would take the time to package carefully, it takes just a little more time and consideration and saves both the buyer and the seller from unnecessary grief in the end.

Glad to see you got a full refund though...

...on this topic, I remember packing and shipping your password:JDM CF rear deck you just bought a few weeks ago....that was the longest i've ever spent wrapping something haha, it was like a freaking 'bubble boy' by the time i was done! I could have thrown it down the stairs and it would have just bounced with how much bubble wrap I used xD

A little better packaging a product? It should be absolutely better NOT a little, NOT maybe. All sellers should be required to pack fragile goods the way theyd like to recieve em. Period.

Now he's trying to make himself look innocent:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...=31433&page=11

He can't admit he completely dropped the ball and sold all his new stock that was still available the day after I shipped it back. Didn't bother notifying me and offering me a replacement.

I must say I'm not thrilled with him either. I purchased an exhaust that came with bent exhaust hangars, the piping touches the crossmember, the exhaust tips press up against and distort the rear bumper...the performance shop that installed it didn't even want to start the car for fear that it would melt the bumper. They literally worked on trying to make it work and make adjustments for 3 hours. This is after I asked them to open on Sunday, which is usually the day they're closed, to install it.

I contact Jon and he requests pictures that I send to him. I told him the shop is 3 hours from my house that I drove to and how they'd been working on it for 3 hours. Instead of acknowledging that there was a problem at all he says, "It's very unusual a shop takes 3 hours to install an exhaust. Most my customers have this exhaust installed on their own home by themselves and only takes less than an hour."

Well no shit, that's how long it should take if you run into absolutely no issues and everything fits properly, which in this case it did not.

He says he will forward my pics to the manufacturer and see what they say. He fails to comprehend that he sold me the product so he should be taking care of me. If the manufacturer makes a shitty product, he should stop carrying it so he's not on the hook for it. He needs to make these situations right to the customer.

I wish I had seen this review thread before ordering from him because I wouldn't have done so. I will never order anything else from him.
