Variable Valve "Butterfly" Exhaust

Are there any local shops that have and can install a variable valve butterfly exhaust?

Look into DMH cutouts, choose the piping size you want and go to any muffler shop and let him make you a new front or mid pipe which ever has more room. I'm running one on another car I own and might consider it on my frs because every time I visit La with my strait pipe I get weird looks

I'm not too sure about local, but this is the kit I've been eyeing for awhile... just gotta buy my BRZ now

It's the Frequency Intelligence exhaust:

I installed a Dynomax VT muffler that has a spring butterfly valve inside. For having 2.5" overpipe to 3" exhaust, it keeps the car pretty quiet during normal drive and loud during full throttle. No power loss.

Do you have any videos of the sound? That's what I was looking to do. Pics of it would be great too so I could see the pipe routing and such also! =)

Here's a clip of the sound. It sounds louder in the video than in actual person. Plus the sound isn't captured well on my phone

Ahhhh so that's how you were able to install a larger muffler, just went under the driveshaft and tucked it up into the tunnel. I like it

Thanks for responding with the post!

No problem. I got the idea from Treadstone Performance's Turbo Kit. The muffler I have is slightly larger so it hangs lower, but it's not a problem (of course it scrapes a little, but not damaging).

Do you get the feeling like it needs a resonator in there at all or do you have any droning with only the muffler?

EDIT: Just noticed you actually have a resonator leading directly into the muffler! How does it sound on the highway and such? any drone?

Drone has been reduced to only occur at exactly 3800 rpm. The cabin noise is a little louder than stock.

I've been traveling on the highway for a year with it installed. It doesn't bother me. I'll post a video from my dashcam to give an idea how loud it is from the inside.

EDIT: @stoked_on_spool
Here's a clip of the noise in the cabin.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjoohmSn2SQ"]Exhaust Clip from Cabin - YouTube[/ame]

Notice how it gets loud when I'm accelerating and then it becomes nearly quiet during cruise. It's not actually that quiet, that's just how different the noise levels are when the muffler's valve is open and closed with relevance to how much I'm pushing the pedal.

Here's me driving at SoW with open windows and an awesome instructor.

I know I'm late to the party but that is badass.
Are you still running this?
