AMR ColdAir Intake

So this past weekend i had the oppurtunity to test out a new Cold-Air Intake that will soon be introduced to the FR-S/BRZ community. It is the new AMR Cold-Air Intake system. I had a chance to visit the facility and talk to the people involved with product developement and they all were very excited to start building parts for the FR-S/BRZ. While i was there i took the time out to view some of their parts that were on display and i have to say i was very impressed with the quality of each part i examined and i knew the quality of the upcoming parts would be no different.
First Impressions
So friday night i came in to pick up the car and the first thing i did was pop open the hood because i really wanted to see what the intake looked like. Everything was nice and polished and really gave the engine a nice touch and i also liked that they kept the sound induction. I know some people might not like it but that can easily be plugged up so at least you"ll have the option for both.

So i started up the car and pretty much with any intake there is that distinct roar that you can easily be identified. I let the car warm up and decided to drive home. *Now i just want to make a note that this coldair runs on stock tune* On the way home i decided to run the car a few times and race my girlfriend in her bmw 328. On the stock tune with the intake on this car it really gives the car a nice kick. Not sure if it's the roar from the intake makes you feel like your going faster but you can definitely feel the added power that the cold-air provides. Even racing my girlfriend in her bmw she was having a hard time trying to break me. So saturday evening i decided to put on visconti's 1.1 tune and take some logs so he can calibrate it for me. Adding the tune made this car feel like a whole other beast. Tune was the first thing i had ever done to my car and now the intake. Adding the intake and tune really put some kick into the car. Its only been two days with the intake. One day was with stock tune and the other with tune. I have video of the intake with tune and without tune. Ill will keep you guys updated as time goes on with the intake and provide dynos in the next two weeks since visconti just calibrated the intake for me so i will do a 93 octane and e85 pulls on the dyno to see what i get.
ill post videos in a few and hopefully AMR will chime in if you guys have questions. But so far im very happy with the intake and im happy it provided positive results tuned or untuned and very impressed with the fit and finish of the Cold-Air. Not sure if other Cold-Air's needed a tune to be efficient but its exciting to see a cold air that doesnt need a tune to function properly especially for those that dont want to purchase a tune but are in the market for a coldair

Did you happen to look at your logs to see where the long and short term fuel trims were with the intake? Prior to the adjustments that is.

Yea i took the picture with my go pro because my phone was about to die. Fish lens does make it look bigger but the piping does look pretty brawlic. Love the look it give to the engine bay.

Thanks for the videos! On the first one, I would tell you to always wait until the temperature is up to operating so that you don't hurt the motor. Looking forward to more.
