color truths and half truths

Hi all,
Just wanted to collect some information on people's experiences with the different colors.
For example, pretty much everyone agrees that black is the hardest color to keep clean, while White is easiest to keep clean. And I just read on a post that red fades the fastest.

What are some more generally true experiences about other colors?

In the sun, the surface temperature of white cars is about 10-15 degrees lower than any other color. Black is hottest, 20 higher than white. This is in Utah, 4500 feet elevation (lots of UV in our sunlight). At lower elevations it isn't so extreme.

the "truth" is that color preference is subjective and all colors can look amazing if you maintain it properly. a different color does not make it easier to keep clean, it just makes it easier to mask the dirtiness.

well, yes thanks for the clarification. that is what i was getting at. white masks dirt easier while black (or other dark colors) can tend to highlight every imperfection. Was particularly trying to avoid subjectivity in this thread.

And regardless of how dirty your car is, if it's DGM, it looks clean from a distance

Well, at least to me, it does.

Yup. At one time I had a 8 year old silver car and 8 month old black car. The black I had just washed 24 hours prior, the silver hadn't seen soap in over a month. Silver loaked great, black, not so much.

Rock chips on WRB will make you cry. Nearly all the WRB I've seen (including mine) are super orange peeled.

Truth! My wife use to have a Toyota Yaris S Sedan that was silver. Hadn't washed it in months. Finally decided to wash it, even though it didn't look that dirty. I kid you not, when we started soaking the car, the water running off of it was brownish

White is not easy to keep clean, i would say silver would be less trouble to keep looking good.

Whit is a magnet for bird poop.

Silver is the easiest car to maintain. No joke.
I will never own another black car again. After a few years if it is not waxed it looks like ass with all the swirls.
