Is there a 17x9 no poke option?

Okay, I had decided on Enkei RPF1 17x8 +45 with 225/45 RS3’s because they met my criteria:
1. Quality wheel, very light, inexpensive, decent looking.
2. No poke.
3. Non coilover set-up. Compatible with camber bolts, stock dampers, stock springs or lowering springs. (I see lowering springs and Koni sports in my future)
4. AP sprint compatible is a bonus. (very distant future)
I was going to do HPDE and some open track days for fun. Not at the limit.

Now the problem. As much as I have been resisting, it looks likely I’ll be going SC which means I need more rubber on the road. I want to run 17x9 square with 245/40. I know 245’s will fit on the 8’s but I feel they are pinched and prefer to match the tread width to the rim width. Are there 9” options that meet my criteria above?

Mach V Awesome +42?
Anything else?
RPF1 +45 with spacers?
Enkei RPF1 +35 – all the photos show widely varying amounts of poke as do all the other +35 wheels; I guess because all the tire manufacturers widths vary.
Can I get enough camber from the just the crash bolts to bring a +35 back in?
Or just shut up and put the 245’s on the 8’s?
Staggered?
I’m tempted to stick with the original plan and just deal with less traction. I’m sliding around on skinny tires for 4 months every winter anyway. I love the stock tires because I can goof off at really, really low speeds. SC should allow me to modulate the throttle similar to NA so why not 225's? Any help is appreciated.

Check my build thread below for a ton of pics of 17x9 et42 with 245/40/17 RS-3s mounted up. It doesn't poke. I'm going to use 17x9 et45 RPF1s for autoX this coming season.

I was able to run the 17x9 et42 with 245/40 on stock dampers/springs before my coils. So I can tell you that will fit.

Gramlights has 17x9 +38. Slightly less poke than a +35

The poke is not that bad on the RPF1 17x9 +35 promise! I got mine mounted up, havent had any rubbing yet been driving on them for....4 days now. someday ill get some pics up. I dont think you will need the spacers on a +45 unless you have some odd setup. but i could be wrong as is often the case with rims >_<

Thanks for the link to your build. Did you have camber bolts installed before you went with your KW-V3's? I'm not adding coils only crash bolts on stock suspension so I'm concerned about rubbing with lowering+camber bolts. I was checking out your build and Scooby South's build and you both are on +42's Rota's.

Thanks. I think they weigh 20 lbs - about the same as stock.

I would love to see someone put a yardstick on the outside of the tire/rim and take a photo showing how far away it is from the fender.

@Mach V Dan I know, I know - it's a great option and right now a toss up between your wheels and the RPF1. Can you confirm: AP sprint kit fits, clearance with lowering springs and stock dampers or konis and camber bolts maxed out?

This is why this decision has been confusing. You are on the same wheel as two guys above but you needed spacers. What's your suspension setup?

Yes, the AP kit fits.

245/40R17 fits easily. The car in the photo I showed above has 255/40R17. The car is lowered on our own Mach V springs.

I have the Mach V 17x9 + 42 with 245/40 Hancook RS3s. I've put them on with a 3mm spacer up front, as originally Big O said no way they would fit without a spacer. However, now I have the tire mounted, I can see that the spacer is probably not needed as I have about 5mm of clearance between spring perch and tire.

I'm on maxed out Subaru camber bolts and Eibach Pro lowering kit.

However, I originally had my 245/40 RS3s mounted on the 17x8 RFP1s and they worked just fine. The car was autocrossed many times with that set up and was staggeringly fast.

Thank You! This is exactly what I was looking for - I will be running essentially the same setup although I haven't researched springs yet. Are you on stock dampers?

Yeah, I was at 0 camber stock. How much did you want to run in the front?

I'd like to max it out. IIRC with camber bolts and 1" drop I could get 1.5 or 2 degrees.

So close to pulling the trigger....

How much camber? My goal is -2.5F on RCE springs (Konis are going on this week) with these same wheels, for my STX setup (when I make the move later this year)
