That steering wheel

Seems no articles have mentioned (not that they would) anything on the steering wheel adjustment. From looking at pictures it looks as if it may be a tilt only affair and on telescope function.

I'm pretty sure one of the tech manuals said tilt and telescopic.

I'm seeing the same thing, it looks like he pulls it towards him self right at the end after tilting it up and down for a bit.

Negative. It's tilt and telescopic, at least it looks like it and I think the tech manual said it was. Kinda surprised no one tried it at tms or scion though.

Is it just me, or does that steering wheel on the car doesn't look sporty enough?

The 3 spoke one on the Celica GTS or the 3 spoke one on the Altezza suits the car more IMO.

MK1 concept had the best steering wheel. How hard was it to make it look like that?

Confirmed: You are wrong.

If we thought the speculation was bad before the car was released be ready, its going to get more annoying with the people who 'think' they are in the know.

let me ask you this; were you there? did you sit in the car? I didn't think so. I saw it with my own eyes and Trousers WHO ACTUALLY SAT IN THE CAR can corroborate my story. thank you. h

Not sure which car you're talking about but if it's the Scion, isn't that car a mostly prototype with horrible fitment issues on dash and other stuff? I think GT-86/BRZ from TMS is a better representation of the production cars. Those are still pre-production models though. I guess it depends on what part they decide to put in at mass production. All indications are that parts will be shared with new Impreza as much as possible.

Maybe that's another feature the Scion lost?

That would suck if so, but I remember the tech manuals or something that someone translated saying both and the video looks like it's both.

Automobile's first drive of the BRZ says that the wheel is a tilt-and-telescope affair. I can't see that differing between the cars and packages...

"The steering wheel is adjustable for rake and reach, though even extended as far as it’ll go, it’s a long reach for long-legged drivers. And the pedals are spaced a bit too far for easy heel-and-toeing. Trunk space is meager, at 6.9 cubic feet, and Subaru made no mention of an available sunroof."

Yep, so if the Scion doesn't have one (which we should believe since members here tried it at the reveal) than you can add another thing to the list of items the FR-S doesn't have.. that one is potentially annoying too since it directly involves the driver being able to enjoy/drive/fit in the car.

Woah, hold on a minute. that would be the STUPIDEST thing to change to lower cost. can anybody else corroborate that the scion version doesnt have telescopic steering wheel?

^^ see Poormans LFA post at the top of the second page.. not sure if anyone has confirmed though. He was there so I want to take his word for it that the Scion doesn't have that.

To be honest after I saw how the BRZ might be priced and equipped I thought about going Scion again but the lack of the telescopic wheel.. nah.. I guess some could consider that a luxury but frankly I like to have the car conform to me so I can comfortably drive, not the other way around.
