Well, it starting to get into the 60's in Florida. Today after a car meet, hopped in the FRS, turned it on, and I had that little glowing exclamation point. Stayed on the whole drive home (40 minutes.) And as of last checking, it's still on.

So I searched, apparently my tire pressure is just low? Is there a way to disable this TPMS? I don't want to be alerted when my wheels drop like 1PSI under what they have it set at...seems like a hassle to me.

I'd rather just check on my own normally.

Correct. I hate TPMS because of hassles it can cause. Especially because our cars can't store more than one set of TPMS codes.

But, if your TPMS light stayed on after 40 minutes of driving, at least one of your tires is more than one or two psi low. Driving heats up tires, and if the light stayed on even after the tires were heated up, then your pressure is lower than you thought.

Did you actually check your pressures when you got home? I can't tell by your post.

they usually only come on at about 25psi, so when they light up, it really is time to check your pressures... there has to be a way do get rid of the system, i just got a BRZ in the shop and it doesnt have TPMS

You can probably take out the bulb in the dash light. I'd just deal with it, though - I doubt highly that it's sensitive to +/- 1psi....engineers are generally smart enough to know that tire pressures will fluctuate within a certain range during normal heat cycles, and I'm sure they did extensive testing during the development on all the various components that went into each system. It wouldn't make sense that they would keep in a system that was throwing codes during normal driving conditions. If the light goes off, just fill up your tires!

Not for me, mine came on about a week or two after owning it on a colder day. When I took it into the dealership to take a look at the CEL, I asked them to also check the tires. They said they were at 32 psi, so I asked them to bump it up to 35 psi as the door frame suggests.

Just turned off today after driving on the interstate for around 30 minutes. Seems like TPMS is too sensitive.

Did you actually checked the pressure? It will come on when it's "significantly" lower than what it should be.
