Interesting Fuelly Stats

While logging a few fill ups today, I started browsing the Fuelly website and came across some interesting numbers for the twins. Collectively, between 102 FT86 owners, we have logged close to 220,000 miles while getting a combined average of 28.3 MPG.

I'm actually more impressed by the number of miles logged so far, than I am with the fuel economy. It just goes to show how enjoyable these cars are to drive and how many of us have logged some serious mileage in a short 3 month period.

So, without further ado: The Statistics

Hopefully within the next 2 or 3 years we will have collectively driven 1,000,000+ miles.

P.S. Mods, I wasn't sure where exactly to put this thread. Feel free to move if necessary.

Hey @MannyO you've got duplicate BRZ pics.

In the past many a sportscar wouldn't even be listed on a website like fuelly so that's really interesting that there are already many cars with a good number of miles. Shows how things have changed.

Wow 28.3 is very respectable, especially for a sporty car.

I've only had 3 or maybe 4 over 30. I do drive the car relatively hard and traffic kills mileage too. But on long roadtrips I can get ~32mpg.

BTW, my car should show up in the Browse Cars section now. When I first signed up they didn't have the FR-S as an option so it was registered as "Other".

Out of 18 tanks I've had only two under 30 and they were both 29+. One was the first tank, which was 87Octane (@#@#$Dealer) and the second involved two serious traffic jams (over an hour) and more true city driving than I normally do.

Overall at 5200 miles I'm averaging a little under 32 calculated and exactly 32 on the onboard computer. Mine is in my Owner's Journal (see my sig) and I keep meaning to add it to Fuelly.

I'm averaging around 27.5mpg I think. I've run through over 30 tanks in 10k miles. I've had two or three tanks as low as 22mpg. But as I said, I do drive it hard. The same thing happened with my other car before I built the engine. After it was built, I no longer found it necessary to drive it so hard with the increase in power. Hopefully the same will be true of the FR-S.

My Fuelly user name is the same as here, or you can find the link in my build thread, which is linked in my sig.
