Camber plate sounds - stock suspension
Hi, looking for comments from people who have otherwise stock suspension and added camber plates. What kind of sounds did you experience? Anyone have silent plates or do they all make some amount of light popping/clunking sounds?

After a few days of settling I had almost zero impact to nvh with the racesengs. I know others weren't so lucky.

Check few things. First, if you dialed extra camber using just camberplates, if you hadn't done that too much and if upper spring perch doesn't rub. Also check if strut top nut is properly tightened.
My own choice was to use rubber top mounts of fixed offset like pedders PED-580096 + camberbolts for even more total camber & for adjustment. |

Some plates are a LOT worse than others and they do wear over time. The camber plates on my RCE SS1 coilovers were silent except occasional springy noises at low speeds in parking lots.
My OEM mounts are making more noise than that right now, but I haven't had a chance to inspect. Could be due to a couple factors. Not a lot of driving right now though. - Andrew |

Mine dont make much noise, you do get a bit more metallic impact noise on big bumps at freeway speeds. On SS1s.

This. My NVH issues were same, with raceseng plates on stock shocks though. Not much noise most of the time, but sharper bumps at speed resulting in metallic impact noise, given very poor state of local roads, not that rare, so as result spoiled daily driving, as (even if it's not so and just in my imagination) it made me think that something may break, made me mind that all the time while driving and try to avoid all such "hit-clunk" bumps along usual driving routes .. so i reverted to rubber topmounts and drove normally since like other cars do and like i did before trying out camberplates.

I'll second the Pedders top hats and OEM crash bolts. On OEM PP suspension, I'm getting -2.1 in the front. No added noise whatsoever.

If you are on stock suspension, camber bolts are going to give you more than enough camber. Camber plates will always add NVH to the cabin, if you don’t absolutely need them don’t put them on your car.

Enough for daily driving? Yes. For track, where one needs -3 or more, no. Unless there are other means added on top of camberbolts to up total camber, eg. eccentric topmounts, eccentric LCA rear bushing, or slotted strut holes.
