Trying to get my brother into a FRS
Hey guys, im trying to get my brother into a frs. He really wants one, so we went to take a loom at a 10 series. Now before we went in we looked up a 10 series on KBB and Edmunds to see what the market value was going for in our area. Is it just me or what. For some reason wether I put it as a 10 series or a regular base frs, the prices mimic each other. Do the features not matter to these sites? Im asking because the dealership with the 10 series is asking for 1500 more then the value at the end of the spectrum. Are they actually warranted in asking that price because they know its a 10 series? Or are they just simply asking too much no matter what the trim level or edition it is? We tried asking for some money off and the salesman said thats our price and we dont negotiate used car prices. He even qouted what i said about it being a 10 series and thats why its worth more, even though he never knew it was until I told him.

push button start, hid headlights, 3 climate control, heated side view mirrors, etc. So yuh, the $1500.00 cost is justified. They only made like 2000 of the 10 series.

The ten series is basically a BRZ limited with a special paint job and some light up badges. So, while it is special for being an FRS and worth more than a base model, it is still an FRS.
Some dealers are moving to a non-negotiable price, especially with internet pricing....but I have never personally not been able to negotiate. If you can find another 10 series for sale, compare pricing and see if the extra stuff is worth it to you or not. |

Well, if your brother feels the extras and being a limited edition is worth $1,500 to him .... suggest he buy it. If not, suggest he buy a base model.
See ....... it's his call ..... I remember, back-in-the-day (1966) ...... I paid $1,400 for a brand new VW bug. It didn't even have a radio. However, it did carry me through 9 countries in Europe ..... just fine. humfrz |

Wow, I must have had lack of sleep I read the thread title too literally... my first reaction was
"Did you try opening the door?" anyways 10 series is a beautiful unique and nice car, I think that $1500 is well worth the extra payment. It's also if he's looking to collect and keep well and not out a Rocket Bunny kit. If that's something that's gonna be done like you're going to cut into the car then go with the cheaper. imho.

Thanks guys, I felt like that paint job, which by the way is nice as hell, never saw one before yesterday including the extra features was worth the extra money, which my brother agrees to as well. We both just didnt want to give the dealer the satisfaction considering they had no clue it was a 10 series and to them it was just another frs.
