Tire Size Recommendation for RE-71R on 18"x8.5" +42 RAYS 57Xtreme Wheels

The Tire Rack recommends running 225/40-18 Bridgestone RE-71Rs on my 18"x8.5" +42 RAYS 57Xtreme wheels, but I know that people on the forum run larger tires on wheels of this size and I'd like some feedback. It looks like common alternatives would be 235/40-18 and 245/40-18, so what do you guys see as the pros and cons to each option?

Here's some additional information about my application that may serve as data points when making your recommendation:
- The car sits one inch lower than OEM on MCS coilovers with 8K Swift springs square at all corners.

- The car has a 4.56:1 final drive and OS Giken LSD

- The car is used almost exclusively on the street during the summer months and was built mainly as an extreme road toy.

- I know the wheels aren't ideal for outright performance, but were chosen as a concession to looks while still not being terrible for performance either. My hunch is that light 17"x9" wheels will wind up on the car eventually.
In addition to outright performance, I'm particularly interested in opinions on appearance (stretch versus bulge) and steering feel. Basically, what performs best, looks best, and feels best?

Thanks for the help in advance and I look forward to being educated!

245/35 is stock diameter. 245/40 is taller and heavier.

Will do, although it may be a few weeks before the tires are purchased, mounted, on the car, and a photo gets taken.

My wheels are the 'Face-2' option, which is the more concave of the two face options available. I bought the wheels used from another forum member who used 245/40-18s when they were on his car, but I don't know the make or model of the tire he used (which makes a big difference in the way they look when mounted). Either way, here are some photos he sent me before I made my purchase:

Fyi 245 40 18 is an easy size to get with a ton of reasonably priced options.
