NC State Inspection Black Tail Lights - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

I recently installed black valenti tail lights on my 2015 FRS. Its time for registration renewal and I took my car to the dealer.

Lo and behold the dealer failed the inspection citing a law that read something along the lines of only red lenses are authorized. I looked into it and I found out that it was an older law. The new law states that Only the light itself has to be red.

but no one will pass my inspection because they have not upgraded their regulations handbooks, even though I have the new law printed in hand.

Are there any shops in the Fayetteville/Spring Lake/Raeford area that will pass inspection for me according to the new law?

The lights are so easy to swap - just put your stock ones back in.

Personally, I can be a bit of an a-hole when I know I'm right. I keep copies of the NC statue regarding the window film on my windshield, and the ANSI spec that goes with it
