Invidia N1 Exhaust Noise In Ontario
Im about to purchase a N1 Exhaust. My friends are telling me im retarded because its too loud and im going to get pulled over.
Is there anyone in Toronto, Markham and these areas who have the Invidia N1 and who has gotten pulled over because their exhaust is too loud? Are cops allowed to give me a ticket, arrest me and etc for having this exhaust? |

Arrest you, no. Ticket, yes.
AFAIK the N1 unit comes with silencers as well. Maybe someone who has the setup can chime in and confirm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've got the N1 with silencers in. Personally it was too loud for me without the silencers as it drones quite a bit. The silencers aren't a perfect fit though, so they rattle quite a bit until the car comes up to temp.
As for trouble with the cops, I've had no problems with them with the silencers in. Never had any problems either when I didn't have the silencers for the first couple weeks. |

If your car is too loud, yes the police will stop you. Ticket you and begin to look at everything around you car to see what else they can ticket while there at it and in some cases even make you do a emissions test if the detect cat removals etc.... Think of it this way...loud exhaust attract people. Your telling everyone to look at you. So cops will also look over From what i know, the N1 is only a good choice if you plan to keep everything else in the exhaust stock. I'll tell you though, the best feeling is when you have a quiet exhaust (aftermarket) and you can still give it a lot of gas beside a cop or when his behind you and never get bothered because the car is still quiet

I plan on keeping everything stock after the N1. I'm going to focus purely on cosmetic mods after that. My tint is also 33% which is afaik very close to legal, 35%.
If I don't like drive like a douchebag, you think it'd be safe? Forgot to mention, I drive an automatic so my RPMs shift at 2.5k so it won't go terribly loud. |

I don't think you will have problems if you don't drive like a douchbag Cops aren't there to pull over modded cars, they are there to enforce the law. So if you drive safe and don't get rev happy near a cop you won't have issues for the most part.

But, I digress. As has been eloquently stated, there will be consequences to making yourself more 'noticeable'. Not necessarily good ones. Run that on a BRZ in other than 'snow mode', and, good luck to you. Run it on your Tesla and you should be fine. |

They can't arrest you and I doubt you will get ticketed (depending on how you drive), but to be safe like others have mentioned you can use the supplied silencers that come with the exhaust.
I have one on my BRZ and until I upgraded to headers I didn't stress about the exhaust noise. It does have a slight drone, but personally it was nothing to fuss about if it's going to be your only exhaust modification. |

In that range not too bad but around 3-3.5k ,where it's normally at while on highways for AT, it's pretty bad to me personally. It's a huge difference from OEM. I find it just perfect for me with the silencers.

Thanks for the quick replies guys.
From what I gathered, it's not that bad but there is some drone to it which should be tolerable. If not, I can always put the silencers in. As for cops, it shouldn't be an issue since it's AT and I'll be careful. Is it easy to put the silencers on? Show em into the exhaust tip? |
