Temporary Ways to reduce exhaust noise?
I live in an apartment building with an underground garage, after I installed my invidia N1, everytime I start my car someone's car alarm goes off. 50% of the times I get home someone's car alarm goes off when I'm parking. and this is with the silencers installed.
FYI about the silencers: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xh3J8r-IgpM"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xh3J8r-IgpM[/ame] Just like the guy in the video, the car makes a lot more noise during cold starts. Nonetheless, the car still starts up car alarms when I get home. The silencers do their job but it isn't enough. I'm asking on ways to reduce noise while the car is in the garage, and then I could remove it exiting the parking lot. While the engine noise is great, and I love my exhaust, nothing really prepared me for this sort of problem (most reviews say it's loud, I just didn´t expect it to be this much) I don't want the homeowners association to start troubling me about my car noise, particularly when I get home late or wake up extra early. |

Well, @OnionTou ..... you might consider buying a inexpensive glass packed muffler (about $25) and cut it half, then slip the outlet/inlet sides over your tail pipes while your car is in the garage......

Move out of the apartment or park in the streets. Joking aside, I don't think there are any temporary ways to reduce noise from the N1 except for silencers.

The silencers come off on trackdays, but on a drive around town, they make the car more useful. |

the car out on the open, standing around the car, it doesn't feel so loud under 3k, but it does make a bit of a racket inside. If you install the silencers, it helps keep it down inside, and I can enjoy my music (after having spent some money on that, Its a shame not to enjoy that). The silencers come off on trackdays. |

Could you get him to give a bit more details on this? It sounds like the perfect solution for me, and maybe a few others who might have a similar issue.

I rev mine a bit & this seems to bypass the loud warm up. 1 sec of loud better than 20-30 secs. Not sure if good to do all the time though.
