Ah well, the axleback gasket and the donut gasket are getting changed out anyway!
The timing change at about 4k-5k makes it SOOOO fkin raspy, it's almost ridiculous. However, I noticed when I was stage 1, that after a 100 miles, it died down a bit, maybe I got used to it? Both my friends who are mechanics said my car was not leaking.

Now I added CATTED EL Headers, and it is still SOOOO fkin raspy, even more ridiculous. I'm pretty sure it's not a leak, I bought new gaskets, replace the old ones, although the new gaskets were all OEM. In addition, I don't hear any hissing or fluttering or ticking either. I thought that getting catted would make EL not as raspy, but this tune makes it very raspy. When I look at other people's set ups , theres are NOT raspy because they got an ECUtek tune.

I was just looking for the header on the OFT site today and it's gone. Google search show it, but it's a dead link

It was just there a few days ago... anyone know what's up?

Interesting. They don't show a header for any make on their site now. It isn't just the twins they aren't listing them for. Must be out of the header business.

True. It's been wonky ever since it was revamped.

They only list OFT for all makes. No headers even mentioned anyplace anymore. Don't think that is a site issue.

Shh! Tcoat would not like this. A generic tune for all aftermarket headers? He said so many times that such tunes give zero gains ...

nikitopo, Tcoat isn t the only one saying that refining the cam timing for a "standard" header with normal/short tube lenght isnt giving much gains. And it s true, there s not much to gain, cam timings tune is more efficient with catless long tubes header

what you gain changing cam timinga with your stock header, it s just because stock cam timings are inefficent and more towards fuel economy/valve overlap/EGR

but you have a locked tune you can t try it by yourself

I think the EGR is also deleted in my tune:

Maybe they didn't went too aggressive like Shiv, because they are a bigger company and wanted to avoid issues with cars not passing emission tests. Who knows ...

The cam timing is tweaked to work with the scavenging characteristics of the header be it long tube, short tube etc. There are obviously other considerations but cylinder filling and exhaust scavenging are biggies. I really like my ofh and oft. If I someday need more power, it'll probably be time for a different car.

yes no doubts your cosworth tune has "better" (performance oriented) cam timings than stock ones.. that is clear.
what i meant, is that if you could modify your tune you could try other cam settings and you could feel that actually if you make small adjustments, you won t really feel big differences of any at all

the reason your cam settings are probably not aggressive (like stage1 tune) is just because you have catted stock header, if you run stage2 or stage2+ you encounter more knock easily specially on high rpm

tuners dont give usually a f*ck about emissions
if you need to pass emissions easily you put a stock tune on or ask them or make yourself a stock tune with p0420 disabled if you have catless header
in italy you pasa emission test with catless header and stock front pipe, that s for sure cause all my friends passed that way
that s for pre my16 car, maybe euro6 emission check ia more difficult

Same in Greece Tomm...we pass emissions tests with just one cat and quite hot exhaust!
