Also what radiator should I upgrade to. My girlfriend got her promotion supposedly (not official yet) so I might as well just upgrade them and do it right the first time and have it ready before the turbo kit. I'd rather not, but I don't want to deal with any bs down the road because of cheaping out.

I have a shop that sells their own turbo kit that said they will make me a custom turbo setup with the AVO turbo mounting location (by the trans, out of the engine bay) for $3400. Is this something I should do, or should I just upgrade the oil cooler, radiator, and get a used SBD kit

What else would I need to make it work?
Yes. You will need lines and a thermostatic sandwich plate.

Do not upgrade your radiator. No radiator has been proven to work better than stock.

Lol in that case I would just order a Jackson Racing Oil Cooler kit which uses a 15 row series 9 cooler and has been thoroughly track tested by CSG. @CSG Mike

If you end up outgrowing the 15 row you can upgrade just the core to a 20 row or a 25 row.

Well I'd rather go big and save money down the road. Just don't know what that is currently or which one to get. Really not sure where to even mount the oil cooler, in front of the radiator?

You should make a kick ass write up on what all to get for what you used! =D sounds like its what a lot of people need

Also, with a under hood turbo, wouldn't those hood vents all but solve the heating issues? I don't like how they look but they're huge and have to let a lot of heat rise out

If its a good shop then that sounds like a steal. Just make sure that the turbo, wastegate and bov they use are good. The rest is just piping.

Did you mount this big Setrab in front of the intercooler or above?

Grimmspeed finally made a vented skid plate, for those wondering about things other than vented hoods or oil coolers.

For every "over heat" thread that pops up on here there should be a second for "had turbo for a long time, no heat issues here"

Larger Capacity Rad, good idea
Oil Cooler since we dont have one, good idea

To me adding the basic coolers is just responsible mods with a turbo. Sure track junkies are seeing heat concerns but people make it out that these cars are the only cars that do that, I have been working around race cars for years and thermal management is always a top priority.

I think people should monitor there data and see where they need to make adjustments other then just tossing money at a "problem" they may not even have.

And maybe that unusually hot day during the summer, take it easy
