I hope that this isn't considered somewhat highjacking a thread but I am about to at this very moment put my order in to become one of the JRSC family. I have a question that could hopefully be answered by some of you guys. I have searched for so long but could not actually find the answer. It is possible that I somehow skipped over it, but I already have an EcuTec tune, license, cable, and dongle so the question is should I just get the tune it yourself kit from Mike over at CSG and then get the Carb tune. If so where I can purchase the Carb Tune separately. any help would be greatly appreciated.

The TIY (3995) + CARB tune (500) would work for you.

We'll need your EcuTek license/dongle ID, so that we can get the tune assigned to you.

Yes. You would be purchasing a special order Factory Tuned system. We must have the Dongle ID at time of purchase to add it to the system.

i'm late on the mpg talk... but... I feel choice of wheels and tires has a bigger effect on MPGs than the SC itself. i'm getting 18ish recently with spirited driving on 265/35/18 "r-compound" tires and heavy 18x9.5 wheels.

Maybe a box for the intake or something there, some polishing and painting. Some CNC bits. Anyone done that?
Here's a shot of mine now that we've put it all back together.

Hi All,

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the JRSC kit, but I'm a little torn between building for E85 or pump gas. For those with E85, did either of you first start off with a pump gas tune, then upgrade? If so, how much of a difference is it between the two? Is it a worthwhile build for E85? There's a lot more required to get E85 and I'm debating if I should go all-out for it. However, that would change if the differences are subtle.

Thanks!

I believe virtually everyone that runs E85 does it with a Flex Fuel kit, so that you can freely swap fuels or mix them, however and whenever you want.

If you're unsure, you can always start with pump gas, and add on the other components later. There's no "additional" work by doing it in two steps, as you don't need to disassemble ANY of the JRSC to get E85 working.
