Smile TRD Lowering Springs

Hey guys,

I purchased a new set of wheels for my car and had them mounted today. Love the look but now I notice the wheel gap more for some reason even though i'm still on 17's. I was looking into lowering springs before but now I really want them. The TRD lowering springs from what I read drop the car about an inch which I think should be more than enough. Does anyone have any experience with the TRD springs or have any other suggestions. Like I said i'm not looking for a huge drop just something to make the car look sportier. I don't plan on using the car for anything else besides dd and fun drives on the weekend on skyline and such. Also, does anyone know any places near San Jose where I could get the springs installed for a decent price? Maybe even a fellow member???

I have the Racecomp yellows and love them, they cost less than the TRD's (I think) and drop the car less (~.5-.75") but it looks great IMO like it should come like this from the factory.

TRD's are $200. Do you have any pics of yours?

I have TRD springs on mine. Love them. Handling is much better, ride is smoother than stock, and shocks remain under warranty, and these springs are cheap. Can't really beat that when you put all that together. Car looks good too with them.

Mine is the Ultramarine.

I love the look of the sportlines but i don't want that drastic a drop. Don't want to have to hassle with the bumpier ride, scraping, and making it difficult to get into a driveway. I appreciate the feedback though.

That looks like the right amount for me. It is about an inch after it settles right? Are those 17" or 18"? Where did you get these installed and how much if you dont mind me asking. Was thinking of trying to do it myself with help of my roomate.

Thanks for this! I've been looking at coilovers but having a hard time justifying the price for my needs.

After the bf bought the RS1.0 yesterday, that comes with the TRD lowering springs, I decided that I might just go without the coilovers since I'm the same as you as far as ease of use, ride, DD, occasional spirited canyon carving.

Thinking of installing myself too. Could you update on how your experience was with that?

Oh sweet! How does he like it? The height looks good with the springs right?
Yeah, I will definitely update once I get them on. I will have to take it to the meet for you to see in person too.

Yeah it's about an inch dropped after settling. Mine were actually just slightly more than an inch. I installed them myself with the help of a friend. There's a good springs install video by slaux86 I think on YouTube.

I think a 1 inch drop is good enough if you're running 17's. I currently have a 1 inch drop with the Eibach Pro-Kit. With stock wheels, the car looked good. Now that im running 18x8.75 wheels, the car is too high. I'm thinking about selling my Pro-kit and purchasing a set of sportlines.
