Dedicated Daily Commuter Thread

Daily driver for me. I'm not putting much money into it. You just never get that money back in the long run. Small mods like tint, wheels, lighting, some aero. Plus being in canada it's just gonna rust to shit

Mines the daily. I mustn't lie though springs are coming along with some cosmetics so not sure if I qualify anymore. But nothing major.

@Monogram, would you mind to share picture of your 2014 monogram edition as well as what comes with it?

I thought this edition is not available until next year.

Modding does not exclude you from the DD group. If that were the case, anyone who buys something that isn't a eco box base model should be excluded. We don't need a beautiful 25k coupe with just average fuel economy for a DD, but we sure as hell enjoy it.

My car is a daily driver, though I don't even need to commute to my job. I've intentions to change out the wheels/tires, but only for aesthetics. I feel the stock setup doesn't really match the vehicle.

Dedicated daily driver.... Um, as a commuter vehicle, the car needs better/lighter weight wheels. The stock wheels are heavy. Better mpg and quicker acceleration are a lighter set of wheels away.

Any other interest in a great driver's car to drive as-is?
Hi Monogram .....

Good thread start .....

Yep, I bought my FR-S ..... to drive ..... not so much to mod. With the exception of some winter A/S tires, a touchscreen head unit and a aftermarket muffler .... mine is pretty much stock. Those things just enhance the everyday driving experience.

Yes, I do like a brisk drive on the twisty roads up in the mountains on the weekends and I find the stock machine does that quite well.

Also, we take our FR-S on long trips and I find it is comfortable, roomy enough, relatively economical and just plain fun to drive.

As a daily driver, I usually take the FR-S for a spin around the county, just looking around, before I stop off at a store or two on an errand run (yes, I retired).

And, yes, I do "open it up" from time to time, out on the country roads, if I don't see any cows or deer lurking along side the road. And I have been known to make the exhaust rumble around town ..... just for "fun" - cause the teen-ager left in me comes out from time to time.

Yep, it's a keeper .....

I beg to differ, a sports car that gets 35 mpg highway is just fine. This car is pretty awesome/fun/sexy/affordable etc. stock, despite what all the "this car would perfect if it had X Y or Z" threads say

I bought mine for daily driving, hopefully for the next twenty years.
Automatic gearbox.
TRD cold air intake.
Clear JDM side markers.
2" Perrin antenna.
OE mudguards.
Sealed Optima red top battery.
Brown leather Katskinz are the last thing on my list, hopefully in the next few months.
What a great little car. :-)
