I'm almost done kicking that poor horse laying there...

I've never had a dealer do an oil change for me, but we got five free ones with our purchase. Two questions:

1. Should I put our stock air tube back on before taking it in? It's just an aluminum pipe from the stock air box to the throttle body that deletes the sound generator.
2. Should I ask them to (and will they if I ask) put in Mobil1 instead of whatever they have in-house?

I've owned and customized cars for over 22 years, and I feel like a dumb kid again with this for some reason.

I suppose the third question could be - do I just skip their free oil changes and do it my damn self like I always have?

Thanks and sorry for kicking this thing down the road so long...

Part of the cost was the dealer oil changes. Take advantage of them. Then start doing your own again once you've used up your oil changes from the dealer.

SOLD! Where did you go? We Purchased from Earnhardt's but only because of our relationship to the finance department. Not sure how their service is....

Camelback Toyota. They have always been good to me.

Just do the oil change yourself. Thats just my .02 because every time i went into the dealer for something small they always messed something up.

Riverview- put my directional tires on backwards
Big Two-forgot to put back on my undertrays when changing tranny fluid

Seriously i dont know where dealers get their techs from these days. But my thoughts are dont go if you dont absolutely have to. I guess I tried to stay away when it came to oil changes because i had a fumoto quick valve and i didnt want them trying to take that off and break the seal.

Camelback Subaru has always treated me right in regards to service. They only screwed up once (forgot to re-secure my 3rd brake light when tinting the windows on my WRX back in June 2011), but I saw that right away and they fixed it right up no problem.

Autonation scratched the hell out of my rear window when I got it tinted last weekend. Not sure how, seeing as tinting is done on the inside (scratches were external). :/

Also, they haven't been very responsive. They completely forgot to set up the tint appointment in the first place (it was part of the lease).

No matter what dealership you go to you always have the chance of something happening. They may have great reviews but you may just get a noob. I got in the habit of double checking everything after anyone touches the car. Camelback shorted me 2 quarts of oil on an oil change one time.

You can do your own service too, I believe the manual just tells you to keep track of mileage and receipts.

I've bought my last 3 subarus from them (WRX in 09, STI in April '13, BRZ in Nov '13), and always had my service done from them.

Kyle in their service department is a Subie guy himself (he drives an 02 WRX Wagon), and Robert Frank (another service adviser) is also quite good. Also, Rich their mechanic is quite capable and even does a fair bit of performance installs.

Ok so this may be a stretch but does anyone work for Macy's, Dillards, or Nordstrom's and potentially hook me up with an employee discount?
