In what gear? At what speed? Sitting at a stop in neutral? What are the circumstances and what do you mean it "lags"?
You question is totally unanswerable with the info you have provided.

I don't understand how this is related to your "late rpms" issue.

In his defense that line does contain as much valuable information about his issue as the rest of the post.

I am good at deciphering cryptic noob.
I think the OP is talking about the fuel cut / rev limiter. On the stock ECU program it is very intrusive and kicks in really hard. If you are running on OFT tune it is much more gradual. |

Well, even if this engine produces less power at higher rpms, it makes sense to not gear up too quick to get most out of car & engine:
Just 10% less power & torque at top rpms than that of at peak is way more powerful at lower gear due different gearing ratio in transmission then too hastily switched gear up at lower rpms and less favorable gearing ratio of next gear. I'd gear up sooner only on 1st, when redline nears so fast, that it's easy to hit hard rev limit and loose some acceleration due stagger from ecu cutting power in very abrupt way. |

I would suggest to the OP that he set the shift light to about 6,500 rpms ..... that way, the engine will most likely get shifted before it hits the fuel cutoff point. Personally, I set mine at 6,000 rpms ........ cause it takes me a while to see the light and react ...... humfrz |
