Ecutek Redline adjust
So just curious, who is raising the redline and to where? Kind of curious what it would need to get to 60mph in 2nd?

Well, I don't have ECUTek, but I believe the redline is upped to 7600 with the OFT... at least I hope that it has, because my dash showed me above 60 mph in 2nd gear before I upshifted to 3rd the other day...

i use per-gear rev limits, 8000 in 1st and second and 7600 in all other gears. allows you to hit 60 in 2nd.

I believe 7700 will hit 60 in 2cnd. James, 8000 is a lot of stress on pistons, pins, and rods, although the engine will do it. I would only recommend it if you are still making power up that high.

Some require the higher limit for road racing to avoid bumping the limiter. We use a combination of a higher rev limit coupled with a tq reduction via throttle control.

Bigger issue is I believe the valve springs go into float / lose control at 7650rpm, so i'd keep it at a 7600rpm rev limit

I know @Ninjin has been doing this for a number of months for track use. Ideally he is using it for the reason of not having to shift for a short duration during a track session. Not so much for power gain etc. I have been working with his car and seen little reason power wise to go beyond 7600. With the exception of "saving a shift" when you just simply need a few hundred RPM more on a tight course. I am sure he will be able to chime in with longer term results for reliability in the coming months.
I personally am doing minor valve train upgrades in my new engine in hopes to handle upwards of 8,500RPM. I don't plan on going anywhere past stock but am building over what I need in the case my turbo spools too slow so i can have a longer usable powerband. I plan on setting the rev limit to 7,800-8,000 regardless of powerband for the same reason as @Ninjin, but have no reason to otherwise shift anywhere above 7,200-7,500. I am curious to know about others long term reliability as I know a number of tuners have been raising this rev limit for a while now.

I use the higher limit in first and second mainly because there is no traction until third, and it keeps me from banging off the rev limiter. Ill probably drop it down to 7600 and just learn how to shift fast lol.

stronger valve springs and or lighter valves or a cam with better control over the opening ramps
