I saw in the Sept. SCCA Fastrack that the Jackson Racing radiator/oil cooler is being made legal for STX. I am looking at possibly doing an oil cooler, as the temps here in S. FL can get quite hot, but I am wondering if the Jackson combo unit is a better choice. The way the Perrin oil cooler mounts scares me. Anyone have any thoughts on the Jackson unit?

I have the Perrin, I flipped it and mounted it to the crash beam, many others have done this.

Jackson dual cooler won't be as capable as w2a if you're considering serious track duty with the car. If just autocross why add the weight. If it's a do everything car without trying to be the best of the best I think it's a good choice.

What is everyone running for seat/bracket combos?

I am 6'1". 225ish. My helmet rubs the head liner on the side of the A pillar already, so I defiantly cant get anything that raises the driving position. I sat in some setups this weekend, only 1 was in a 86 tho.

Was looking at Sparco or OMP seats

Anybody have experience running the oem rear lower control arms in STX trim? When I first built this car I was expecting to want less rear camber but I have settled at -3 in the back and would love to ditch these Whiteline arms if possible

In terms of mounts, highly recommend the PCI mounts. You can get a fixed/adjustable or slider version. I have the fixed/adjustable with the set back side mounts for maximum low and leg room.

Here is my setup, sorry the picture lighting stinks.
I transferred the occupancy sensor and mat from the passenger side along with the buckles so everything works like OEM.

Depends on your ride height. You'll likely need to be super low to get -3 in the rear.

for those with teh whiteline inserts, when you go over rough road at like less than 40mph do you get a bunch of nvh? i thought something was coming loose or my bushings were ripped but i cant find anything in my suspension that is loose, and all my bushings are good. i even injected more grease into all my ball joints since they looked low and it is still there

Check suspension bolts torque. I had installed subframe bushings and months later got a low speed popping over bumps. Thought it was sway links. It was the two rear subframe bolts coming loose. I doubt I forgot to torque them completely but it always possible.

well what torque do i use? the instructions say 72ftlb which i just retorqued to this afternoon and still have it. the subaru manual says 103 ftlb for the bolts, but also says they arent reusable.. i think my ball joints are failing there was nearly no grease in any of them and its been driven in the shittiest roads pittsburgh to philly have to offer.

also by subrame bolt you mean the ones these go in

Sort of. I was talking about the rear. I see you are working on the front.

.

i was talking about these
There is a whole lot going on in the rear and wasnt exactly sure what bolts you were talking about. also i find it strange that whiteline and subaru calls for different torque specs. so i figured id go with the lesser since the vendor should know their product right?
