You have to replace your Toyobaru, what would you buy?
Apologies if this is a re-hash of an old topic (my google-fu failed me).
Your car gets totaled, taken away, gone in a poof of fairy dust, or whatever and you get a pile of insurance money for what it's worth (reasonably speaking), what do you do with twenty some odd thousand dollars in your pocket (after you pay off what you still owe the bank ) I realize very quickly that many would go right out and get another Toyobaru but I have a hunch a great many more would try something different. For my money my top two include an early RX-7 ('79-'85), have some money to put into sorting out any potential issues, maybe a port job and pocket the rest: Or go for practicality with a nice little Italian sedan and be ready to bike to work in the morning just in case: So what would you guys do to replace the hole in your hearts? |

I like to try different cars, so my top 3 would be:
1) 09+ Boxster S 2) S2000 3) Exige/Elise But if I could recover my aftermarket parts from the FR-S, I might get an RS 1.0.

I voted for another Toyobaru. Specifically, another BRZ Limited, probably still in DGM. Driving this car makes me happy.
Maybe in WRB. |

The FR-S really is the perfect car for me at the moment. That being said, if it were stolen and/or totaled, I'm not sure I would jump straight back into one. I'd probably kick around the idea of a used Z3M or S2000 first, use the extra cash I saved for a rainy day fund.
Having owned the FR-S for 2+ years now, I can tell you it will stay in my garage until I no longer have the means/time to use it properly. Beyond being a great driving machine, I have an emotional bond to it as my first true purchased car (post college) and first modified car. Gf said she would never let me sell it, saying something to the tune of "i'll buy it from you until you change your mind back".

WRX, STI, or Forester XT, I miss the AWD during the winter, preferably an 07 STI though.
