Oils aint oils Sol
Had interesting discussion in Supercheap after using their product screen to choose 86 oil type and then Subaru BRZ to get 5w not 0w choices.
In fact they carry bugger all zero weighting oil. And I object to paying $15/ litre OEM when even high performance aero oil is only $7 per litre. So what are you guys running and where do ya get it? |

Well don't know the average temp in the outback (lol)
But I use 0-20 Mobile 1. From Walmart, or any auto parts store. Stock car, daily driven zero problems.

I've been using Penrite Enviro+ 0W-20 (as seen here) purchased from Repco. I've had no problems.
The back of the bottle specifically lists the Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ as appropriate for the oil. |

I use 5w-30
have used Royal Purple Mobil 1 Nulon Race oil Castrol something or other.. plus a few others i change it out every 7500km (now pushing 120000km, so 16 oil changes) never had one tested by a lab, so can't really comment if they did their job properly or not. I can only assume a decent, fully synth oil would be satisfactory. Next I am going to give Amsoil a run, hear nothing but good things about them.

The answer really depe on what you are doing with it. Daily driving, milk runs on cold mornings stick to 0w20.
Im running a 10w50 and may move to a 60 weight... lots of track time on a boosted engine.
