I have different a to e tables from luckrider. I also am using a different rom. His didn't have all the same tables defined. I will post later today when I get into the office where I left the laptop. You can pm me your email and I can send you a rom with the edits. I am on propel and it works great. So far five perfect starts.

We really must be getting generous blends out here in Utah. Aside from a bit of bumble at first idle, I have had no cold start issues in temps as low as 12deg.

I should measure the ethanol content in my e85 soon.

I have not measured the ethanol content. Need to find a tube of some kind. Still, I believe the Propel fuel is very high in ethanol because mixing in a gallon of gas in a full tank made a massive difference in start up. E85 is also 2.99 a gallon as of last night, which I like.

I have not calculated the mpg by fill up and miles, but the computer thingy says I'm getting 27.5 or so, which is about .5mpg less than it read for 91 octane. I have no idea if it becomes inaccurate with e85. Depends how it's calculated, I guess.

It is absolutely wrong in fact.

FYI, I tried the 155b rom and had the worst startup ever. 4 tries. I have made changes to the RPM table and will try later today when my car is cold again. If that stumbles, I will try all my old (and relatively rich) settings on the new ROM and see if it works. Propel should change their name to Grumpy.

How many of you guys are using e85 ROMs and having poor cold startup?

Me. I use Propel and live in San Diego. On 60 degree mornings it takes 6 or 7 sputter-failing tries to finally get a good start. My neighbors think I drive a beater...

1 gallon of 91 clears it up for the most part. I'm waiting for Shiv to incorporate the good work of the forums to fix the E85 start issues

Using the same tune I pump 2-3 gallons of 91 and the rest Propel e85 and have no cold start issues (in OC) 45-55 degree mornings. Give it a shot.

Well, I keep experimenting and have a ROM that does start up every time on Propel. I have upgraded to the newest 155b ROM just today. The settings did not result in successful first startup, nor did running a more aggressive cranking RPM IPW table with the other settings as is. I have since changed the ROM to my old settings, though I will be playing around with somewhat leaner ones as I fear it is still over rich.

PM me with an email address if you want to see the 01c ROMs and settings I have been using.

And using a gallon or 2 of 91 does totally make a difference. Then the stock Vish settings seem to work fine. However, I want to move away from 91 as much as possible because I think it introduces too much variability in the gasoline content. Also, I want to run renewable as much as possible.

I am still having issues to I was better on 1.42 than 1.55 which is giving me more issues. I am thinking seriously about going back to my 1.42 setup.

I will check my changes vs. the changes @Luckrider and @jsimon7777 did. Thanks to both of you for the information you have shared it is a great thing to see being done in the community!

Luckrider looking through the tunes changes I was curious, what intake are you using?

As far as E85 maps to, there isn't much difference the v1.55 maps and the v1.42 maps. Using the file comparison feature in Rom Raider will reveal all.

Stock intake, same filter that shipped in the airbox all the way from Fuji Heavy Industries in Japan. Literally the only mods are:

1. Custom Startup Screen (my profile pic).
2. OFT.
3. I guess General Altimax Arctic 215/45R17 if you count winter tires as a mod

I have used two different e85 stations (and there is a third one that isn't far away that I might consider trying). My primary one appears to be lower e% based on the LTFTs (probably 70%-80%) whereas the other station I tried is probably at about 85%. I have only had it fail to start on the first push of the button twice and each time it fired right up on the next try.
