Cut the power to test out backup power. Let's see how many days I can go before reconnecting to PGE, or if there are any problems. PGE keeps talking about cutting power during windy, dry days. I don't wanna have to suffer in that situation.

Harder to get than you think. Mayflour, and United won't go to Idaho. Others can't do it with this short of notice. Hell, even U-hall has a shortage of trucks with people driving them to other states and leaving them. Too many people want out of this shit hole.

Pick up some homeless people? I'm sure lunch and 10 bucks will get you all packed.

Or you could see if there's Takl/handyman services in your area.

What powers your generator? My neighbor up at the lake has a dedicated 200 gallon propane tank for his. when a fire took out all the lines to town, and no power for over two weeks, he was set. Our well is hooked up to his power, so at least we still have water when the power goes out.

Actually PODS does have companies they work with that will load for you. I plan on doing that for the next one with furniture. This first one is nothing but slot car track and boxes. We figured we aren't too old to stack boxes.

So it turned out the EV charged longer than expected and the power cut. X)
Lesson learned. Do not charge the EV while on battery power.

People move for the same reason you are, to cash out on the house and then move somewhere cheaper to retire, or because they just can't keep up with the pace/demands of living somewhere so expensive.

Wow. That's amazing. It makes sense. I've always packed and moved my own things. I snapped out of it when we hired Big Al's to move our daughter here from Las Vegas. It was perfectly coordinated with zero damage, and barely more expensive than my past DIY moves.

Really sorry to hear about the difficulties.

That changes everything. Your test uncovered a failure mode. Call Elon and demand that he fix his shit.

He hasn't fixed anything since before PayPal. Too busy getting high and tweeting about his hallucinations.
