New to the Forums

Hi their name is jimmy, i am new to the whole forums page and i just bought the 2014 Scion FRS 6 speed manual. I put about 2,500 miles on the car already and its 2 months old l.o.l what can i say i love driving my new car. I have about an infinite amount of questions to ask concerning about my car. My questions are primarily the modifications that i should be doing to my car as a new FRS owner that is trying to go Drifting for the very first time. Also where can i learn how to drift and be able to obtain the skills needed to drift and handle my car like a professional in any weather condition. Iv'e been looking and i guess i haven't been looking at the right sites or finding any info pertaining to my topics or concerns. If any one can help answer my questions i would greatly appreciate it thank you again ahead of time. I would like to apologize if i posted this in the wrong thread.

Join the SCCA, do as many autocross sessions as you can, and learn how your car handles at the edge of control. You don't need to do any modifications, it was designed for drifting.

Hi.
Welcome to the forum and the car.
First a friendly bit of advice...the enter button is your friend. Makes it easier for everyone here to read what you post.

As to you questions, while you are still learning I would honestly refrain from any mod apart from driver training courses. There would likely be some near to where you live.
These give you the required skills to be able to know what your car is like on the edge of grip in many different situations.
Then once you know your car better, there are generally drift courses at local tracks or skid pans.
As for physical modifications, once you know your car and truly how to drive it, you will know more about what mods you require.
For drifting this car was made for it...many people go drifting in these in standard trim...no grip in the tyres, infinitely flickable and easy to control.

I personally have put 52500kms on mine in 18months and have changed wheel/tyre combo and suspension basically. Because I know where I felt the car lacked for my desired drive.

Go learn your car and in doing that learn yourself and what skills you need to improve, then mod the car if you still want to.
