That newer stock calibration seems smoother but not as much power, maybe it's doing some "learning" just after reflash? It's going to make the SC upgrade feel that much more!

In every drive by wire car I've owned doing a reset makes it feel sluggish, especially the throttle response. It's like the first few mm of pedal travel do nothing. Give it a day or so of driving. Definitely all of your learned parameters have been reset, so if you have 93 octane you will lose any timing advance the ECU had.

This make sense, I suppose one aspect is that it needs to recalibrate all the sensors so it knows the sensor limits correctly.... during that time I'm sure it's preprogrammed with some very conservative values to ensure the safe running of the engine.

To get this back on topic (this is the Edelbrock owners thread right?), you will feel the same "dead pedal" feeling after the ecu flash/SC install, so don't be too disappointed when you pull out of the shop/your driveway excited to do some pulls.

That's a really good point! I wonder how many people who have installed have faced this same thing and not understood and posted reviews based on that initial experience. I wonder how long I should drive it before dyno and other performance testing.

Oh you won't be disappointed. It will still pull hard, it just won't be as responsive initially.

Ok just some question, i will order mine mid-january.

Everyone seems to say "it feel like stock with more power", when i'm looking at the torque curve, i just can see that it will absolutely not fell like the great canyon torque dip.

There is some miles to do before go WOT after installing it ?
Some miles to do before having the full power from the supercharger ?

In straight line do you feel a real difference ? Ok it's not for what we bought the frs/gt86/brz but i can't understand how can you say that is not what you expect from this supercharger, maybe because you're living in the US and have lot of v8, v6 cars that pulls hard, and get you stucked in the seat ... but will it feel a little bit like that ?not that mutch of course...

The gt86 is my daily and i'm driving an AT. I'm living in Strasbourg and i go often to germany driving on the autobahn with no limit speed ^^
I've seen a german tuner with a sprintex supercharger hit the 170mph !!

I hope that i will feel what i see on the dyno results and that i will it some serious speed just for fun ^^

Absolutely yes. You can't not feel a difference. With an AT (which i have as well), you can't rev it up and launch it from a full stop, so at the low end of the revs (under 3000) it'll still feel almost stock. But once you get past that, it's a huge difference. If I'm cruising along and just do roll-ons, there's a big difference in acceleration. If I keep in the power band, then even more so.

If you are asking about a "break-in" period similar to when the car is new, then no, there isn't one, you can go WOT right out of your driveway/shop. You will, on the other hand, have the same "dead pedal" as discussed earlier, but that is mainly due to the ECU flashing and having to relearn parameters and should go away after a few hundred miles of driving.

Or you just do the pedal/throttle learning before you start the car for the 1st time and then you don't get any dead pedal at all

Turn car on without starting the engine, fully press and release gas pedal 5 times, turn car off, turn on without starting again, press and release 5 times again, then start engine.

If I recall correctly.

Yes, the dead pedal fix works. I've had to disconnect my battery on two occasions... once when I installed a CAI and another when I installed a steering wheel. Noticed sluggish throttle response, did the procedure I saw others posted about, and instantly felt better throttle response. Still curious if this is published anywhere by the OEM. Here's more detailed discussion: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39480
