Will the BRZ cannibalize FRS sales?

I went to the Subaru dealership a week ago and they told me that five BRZ's are pretty much sold and there's a waiting list.

Fast forward to today, I went to the Scion dealership yesterday and they told me that not one person has put a deposit down for the FRS.

Will the BRZ cannibalize FRS sales due to being in the same price range and being better equipped? I spoke with one of the sales managers while I was at Scion and he said he was hoping that the FRS would be under the Toyota brand instead of Scion because Scion has some sort of monounit? system in place. Where as if it was Toyota, they would have different trim levels like Subaru.

Basically, do you think Toyota branding the FRS as Scion will bite them in the ass? Less brand recognition, similar price to the BRZ but less equiped, cheapened interior, standard options on the BRZ that aren't even options for Scion etc.

How does that effect the demand or someone from putting down a deposit for a vehicle that isn't officially released yet? They're basically the same vehicle, so why is the demand higher for the BRZ? Maybe a nicer interior and HID's/Navi really is that important ?
