I'm just hoping that with the release of the new styling, the 1st gen headlights will get a little cheaper..Still have a hard time wrapping my head around $950 per headlight - and that's just for the assembly!

Now they won't make them anymore so they will go up in price.

Digging up this thread because I too am interested in retrofitting the new lights in my '16 BRZ.

Only concern is any wiring issues

New BRZ to old BRZ should be a straight swap. The wiring issue is going from BRZ to old FRS which had the signals in a different spot.

Ya your 16 headlights do look different from the 17s.

In case anyone missed it, you can already buy the 2017 tail lights, and they seem to be a straight swap: http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/toyo...-s-brz-86.html

Haven't seen the headlights available though, but I'm interested though.

Are the $950 per headlight the price for the old headlights or the new headlights? Btw, I have a set of 2013 BRZ OEM headlights that I am trying to get rid of. PM me if you're interested.

I don't think the wiring will be a straight swap for new BRZ to old BRZ either because the DRLs on the old BRZs were a completely separate lamp while AFAICT, the DRLs on the new BRZs are now part of the headlamps.

13' FR-S is still the best front end of any twin, to date, that would be the ideal swap. The GT86 (17') is just hideous.
